    Default Page file usage

Anyway to tweak the page file usage for DDO? I've got 8GB of memory and would rather have more system memory used and less pagefile usage.

Firstly - If you have 8gb of memory, make sure you are running a 64bit OS otherwise your user mode applications (i.e. DDO) can only use 3Gb. Assuming you have that already, continue reading...

The OS determines how much physical memory vs page file is used when an application demands more memory. I recommend if you want DDO to use more physical memory then you close all other applications that might be using physical memory.

If you really want to ensure that DDO only uses physical memory then you could disable your pagefile but I really wouldn't recommend this at all. Do at your own risk!

Other less intrusive suggestions: Try moving your pagefile on another physical harddisk to speed things up. Try defragmenting your pagefile, the windows inbuilt defrag tool doesn't support this, but you can use Executive Software Diskkeeper Pro to do this, or search the internet for other tools.

Thanks for the response. I was only asking as some games allow you to change certain settngs that affect memory usage and page file usage and I couldn't find anything in regaurds to DDO if it also offered such type of tweaks. Crysis, Oblivion are 2 such games where you can change file cache size(this is the size of cached files it send to memory first, then page if main runs out of room) and thus improve performance because you are doing less disk thrashing for file reads.

    Do not disable Page file.

For best results move Pagefile from the Harddrive that has the OS on it to another harddrive. Also, having a pagefile 2 times the memeory will make programs run alot better, so you have 8 gig then make it 16 gig page file. I beilieve MaimumPC Website has a article somewhere about it

If you have 8 gigs memory, then you probally have a new computer. Your not going to make DDO run any better then what is already possible.

Hell im I can get way over 300 frames per sec on my computer at times

When I was referring to performance, I didn't mean fps, I should have been more clear. I am referring to the load times between zones depending on where you are and where you are trying to zone to or if on large map areas, Vale, Orchard and GH for example, keep disk reads down.
