Fun read Borror0. I guess what astonishes me about this lengthy thread here is not the miscalculations so much as the ignorance of actually believing this build to be original or infallible. I believe in my heart of hearts the Devs purposly alternated the meat of both Ranger and Fighter classes to accomodate the hundreds of 6 Ranger, 10 Fighters in play. They know as well as anyone that Barbarian = Supreme DPS, if not, the entire class has no purpose being in the game, right?

I see words in the EU thread like "Narcissistic build", "Pleonasm" (perfect for this thread). But my favorite, and still making me LMAO, is from "aLiis" who writes:

I believe that the build is great, but far from the best build out there. A ranger can selfheal, buff, have lot higher AC and deal reasonable dps. This was not what was debated, but the DPS of The Monster VS other builds.

Can you back up any of the lines in it with what I have said about the Monster? No, you can't because that is just pure ****.

this sounds like the same arguement you used AGAINST the temp III and now you are using it FOR the monster, as in the "slightly less dps but more survivable tempIII vs higher burst dps monster with no healing" and you said 'oh yeah the monster wins'. now its "slightly less dps but more survivable monster vs higher dps pure fighter with no evaision" and you say 'oh yeah the monster wins'

FYI, the tempest III will be 50-100 dps behind the Monster, and I wouldn't call that "slightly less dps", considering that it's ~20%.

If you don't see the differance between 50-100 dps and 6 dps, well thats your loss I guess.

pffffft your calcs were wrong no? regardless of the dps difference you are shading the story towards your build and you know it. u said the monster was teh uberestest dps, now the pure fighter has you beat and u start talking about survivability on a toon that cant heal itself. gimme a break

I am not saying that The Monster have the best dps anylonger. pure fighters have higher DPS, BUT I said that The Monster is a, IMO, better build.

I don't think you realise just how far a rangers DPS is from The Monsters.

You would have to make some really bad assumptions if you want to make a calc that shows that a Ranger have more DPS then The Monster.
Feel free to try it, it would be interesting to see how you are going to twist it to the rangers favor this time.

Hehe, except that Aliis is even worse off than me when it comes to defending his build.

His 500 hp barb with 72 ac when shield blocking, imp. uncanny dodge, HV ac boost, defensive fighting + raid buffs without evasion is tough and durable.
But a Monster with 500 hp, 70 raid buffed AC with PA and TWF, 36 ref save and evasion have the survivability of the average hagglebot.
I just love the logics in that.

You would have to make some really bad assumptions if you want to make a calc that shows that a Ranger have more DPS then The Monster.

since your building on 20 and like to use bursts lets take a lvl 20 ranger elf with 36 str buffed hits on a 1 and fight lasts for 5 min it's a tempest build fighting a FE with max enhancments and it uses a +4 holy of greater evil outsider bane longbow for manyshot which it uses every time the timer is up so add in the stwf extra attack and the 25% attack speed boost of ranged and i'm sure the ranger will beat the monster in dps in 5 min only 2 manyshots.

An outstanding point the monster should probably use manyshot when its manyshot timer is up. The pure level 20 ranger tempest III with improved critical ranged and the rest of its feats melee feats will out dps the monster if it uses manyshot properly.
