LMAO - u got me! I have one monk in guild. Hes level 7. Argonessenn isnt really the monk haven of DDO. Sad but true. They implement Greensteel handwraps and il roll one up right away.

I use the DQ bracers all the time on my barb; pretty much only take them off for end fight kobold/VoD tanking/ or the pit fiend. (all those scenarios I favor the VoD bracers). I find that most of the time, 90% of the time I'll get 0-1 neg levels between shrines. Seldom I'll get two, and its on a very very rare occasion I may have 3+. Thing is tho, unless my to hit is hurting, I could care less about the neg level, and normally dont ask for a restore (unless its the 3++ occasion). Taking a small hit to saves and dropping from 700 HP to 650 HP isnt really an issue.

I did grind out DQ tho before the raid loot change ages ago. The largest deterrent for me on making another melee is those bracers. Cant bring myself to farm the DQ again, much less shoot for 20th reward lists; and I find the bracers just too nice to play a no AC melee w/o.

I feel FB is going to burn a whole in my barbs pocket for potions. I remember using 500+ a week before getting the DQ bracers. And have enjoyed using 0-100 potions a week ever since. Its nice for offsetting incoming damage, but dont think it'll be very practical by itself for negating Visc. damage.

BUT you have to consider this, if doing double frenzy is enough to kill a monster before it hits you just one more time, then the self damage was worthwhile. For a THF, double frenzy adds about 70 more DPS. If you kill a mob and hit yourself 10x, (roughly 40 damage) thats about equivalent to what the monster would do to you with one more swing. Atleast most beefy melee mobs. Caster types could cast and hit you for far more. Not so practical to use on bats or archers that plink you. Heck, I didnt even know bats did damage till my cleric got high enough level. Bats just couldnt get thru my barbs DR.

Yeah thats why i struggle to roll a new caster/cleric - the grind for the Torc (best caster item ever.) is what puts me off.

Im nearly at 40 dqs fro my bracers (hopefully) on groan. Good info as per usual Black.

The Cleric capstone. Keep a pure cleric handy and you shouldn't have a problem with frenzy damage at all.

They do suffer it. Not all negs are energy drain (like if you try an Unholy Burst sword)

yes, but normally regular shrine use is more than enough neg lvl restoration to deal with. only on rare occasions will you get zapped repeatedly enough to ask for a greater restore from someone.
