spells miss moving targets

If I target a moving monster and attack with (for example) comentfall why does the spell strike a location where the monster WAS at the time of casting instead of where it IS when the spell launches? In terms of game mechanics, it seems the spell should strike the current position not the prior position of the monster.

Would you like living spells doing this to say a cleric, that would equal dead cleric every time, you need some time to move other wise all low hp wouldnt stand a chance.

Casters tend to need to use their hot bars as much as anyone else so being in and out of mouse mode a lot means having to find a comfortable way to do it.

i don't think that's the case. then again everyone has their own style i suppose
i tend to play with strictly mouse look as it helps a lot in quick turning and specific area targeting for spells
the hotbar, afterall, was set up by you. you should put the most often used spells near where your hand can reach the most, swap positions of spells when you're safe when the needs arises (think of this as "preparing" your spells before battle)
and a simple Ctrl + Mouse-scroll up takes me to another bar where i set up my alternate spells. quite easy to play actually
