    Default Devotion & potency questions

    Hello

First, do potency items that add to damage, i.e. +50% to damage of spells lvl 5 and under, also increase the effect of healing spells?

second, What Greater Devotional items are available? Is there anywhere that they drop more than others? I checked the data base and couldn't find a listing for Gr Dev.

    Thanks.

Yes, Potency items work on healing spells and damage spells. Devotion items work only on healing. The only advantage of Devotion items is that they are considered less powerful and can be found on lower level items (i.e. you might not be able to use a Superior Potency VI item until level 14, but you could use a Superior Devotion VI item at level 12).

Some named loot has potency or devotion, but mostly you find them on random items. Go to the Auction House and look under daggers and clubs (Sceptres are found under clubs). You'll find lots of Devotion/Potency items being sold there.

You can also get Devotion items on rings and helms, but they are a lot more rare.

You can get Potency and Devotion on Shields as well although the minimum level will be higher than on a weapon.

Superior Potency and specific superior <whatever> are real nice when found on rings. I was lucky to get a Superior Devotion 5 Ring of Power I (Min lvl 13) as an end reward from Shroud. If it was Superior Devotion 6, I would have loved it even more.

Ahhhh, thank you very much. I thought it did increase healing but with empowered on, trying to keep track of everyone in a fight and speed runs, I never could look at the combat log and figure out if it was helping.

I have a couple devotional shields but the potency scepter is more effective and it reminds me I really shouldn't be in combat, unlike my nifty Pure Good Frost Mace of glowey coolness.

Their system is actually inconsistant. Most superior devotion VI weapons are 10th level. Oddly, you can find superior ardor VI items (which are worse) that are 12th level.

The whole potency/constant bonus/clickie bonus hierarchy is screwed up. Sometimes better items are lower level mins.

BTW - check all weapon types on the auction house for Superior Devotion VI itmes. I got it on a heavy pick for under 50,000. The Sup Dev VI scepters all were going for well over 100,000.
