accidents happen. i took a 10 min afk in the middle of a speed shroud few days back. while running to get the door, i stepped on a power plug and it left a 1/2 inch deep hole in my foot. applied 1st aid and after the run, i checked on the foot an it continued to bleed and off to the hospital i went

what you stated is a forseeable incident, some are not. not that i want to curse you but tell me you will not dc/afk when your loved one get hurt...

I guess that's the difference, most plugs over here don't have an ability to face up or down, they always lay flat horizontally. The things that don't - like some cell phone chargers - usually fold the forks in.

That's interesting, I never considered that portion of the safety aspect... always figured it was just to avoid crossing wires at the socket.

I ran into that a lot when raising my latest lowbie... it's the twinkage. I bet you had a +2 str tome and a +4 or 5 item, a stack of rage pots, etc

Didn't need rage, using all lvl 9 +6 stat items MMMM, twinkies are good.

I have a +6 lvl 9 stat item for every stat but wisdom. Con ring, str I have 2 str(gloves and Bracers), int ring, Dex Ring, and charisma helm ALL lvl 9 rr whatever. I collect uber twinkies.

Now another question... do your wall outlets have space for 1/2/more plugs?

Part of the reason I think American plugs are designed the way they are is that you almost never find an outlet with room for only one plug. They usually have 2 or 4, having the plugs like yours are would cause either blockage or potential wire-crossing.

That's generally what I do, last night ran a lowbie dragon raid on my new Rogue... first of all my lvl 10 rogue had the highest str in the party, lol, that was enough to make me laugh right there, the barbarian, couldn't hit the str lever. But we got to the dragon wasted 25 mins just trying to get people to take down their pillars , I had mine down in a few seconds and the tank lost aggro on the elementals because it took so long for the others, Bridges got blown up, and they all went back to home base to regroup. I said sorry guys this ain't gonna succeed and I'm not wasting any more time, wished them good luck and left.... Luckily I get to run VoN 5 again and get all that xp Woot!!

It's not that odd if you've been to the UK. It's the same configuration they use over there. And yes, they do have 2 socket outlets, dunno about more than that.

In France and Belgium it's another completely different outlet.

Good thing they make universal adapters, otherwise you'd have to buy country based electrical items almost every time you travel somewhere new!

It just may be my bad Irish luck but it seem that in my life I always have a real life situation come up when I am running with a good group. Then it realy sucks to have to drop group.

That plug configuration is common in several countries in Asia, especially China. Cords do get crossed sometimes, but power strips (with 4-6 space for plugs) run for US$2. Many power strips have built in universal adapters that accept almost any type of plug. So, most homes end up having power strips for commonly used outlets.

Also, the way it goes in the wall, usually the cord runs south along the wall, instead of protruding 2 inches straight out then south, as in the US. I think that is the tradeoff of the risk of getting a 1/2 inch hole in your foot when sprinting across an up-turned plug.
