I have now heard this being floated around a few times. Forget about the fact that unlike the
evasion in heavy or medium armor change which brought the game in line with the rules that change
of the monk wisdom AC to only centered would be a change FROM the rule which only states no armor,
unencumbered, and not wielding shields (nothing about being centered or using monk weapons). Even
though this is true, this build ruining potential change could be mitagated to some extent if their
was a feat that allowed the user to use any chosen weapon as a monk weapon. But this feat only
exists for longswords?! Are you kidding? What about the people who built finnesing builds and/or
those like one of mine that are drow and use the rapier enhancements? What about the people who
wasted 24 larges making a greensteel rapier or any other weapon than a longsword for a monk splash?
I realize that rumors are about worthless in absence of stated intent and release information from
an actual dev or Turbine rep, but if as Eladrin said things are all subject to review and change,
I hope they value the subscription dollars of all their monk splash or mix people as much as they
do their barbarians. Such a change away from rules should not be made and I hope it's just that, a
rumor. There certainly is no reason to make it since giving up armor, a bracer item slot that's
often the strength item, and the potential to max further another prime stat by investing points in
wisdom (the most expensive sacrifice by far in my opinion) are all sacrifices that deserve the
legally allowed bonus for AC. But if it were done, at the least, there ought be a way for already
made builds who followed rules (ie people knew that the rules said evasion only in light armor, or
that the enhancements taken off the toughness feat from Minos Legens helm were not meant to be,
unlike monk wisdom bonus to AC never requiring monk weapons by rule) to recover from the ruin this
would bring to their builds and/or the waste of valuable Shroud ingredients. And there is. Don't
make this feat apply only to longswords. Allow it to be used for any one kind of weapon, but only
that one. The trade off of a whole feat for this would make the choice a fair one.
