Mate, any application, operating system, game etc that you or i install gives language options. Let me list some for you and see what you think.

US English
English
International English
Chinese
Japanese
US English
Russian
US English


And oh did i mention US English.

Granted yes it is English, BUT it is US English, not the same as what Canada, Great Britain and Australia use.

Let me choose a couple of words to illustrate this:

Color - US English
Colour - English
Armor - US English
Armour - English

Do you see where im going with this? Yes you may us English, BUT its AMERICAN version of ENGLISH. Words are spelt differently, things are said differently etc. IF AMERICANS used ENGLISH the way it was originally designed, then there wouldnt be a US English choice for installations would there?

The root language is across the board for both Great Britain, Canada, America and Australia alike. True, all but the US uses Queen's English but it still does not change the fact we all use English as a base language. We of course use different phrases, words, or even spelling's of words like you listed but in the end, it is still English.

Even within our own respective countries we have people who all speak English but they use different dialects of English. For example, go to the southern US states you would find it hard to understand most of what they say but they are speaking the English. The English language for all countries who use it are not using it as it was originally designed. English is one of the most dynamic languages out there, it changes as time goes by.

Besides, what I was talking about earlier was someone's mistaken belief we have American English as a language. We do not. We go to school and pick up our textbooks with the title of "English" on the cover. There is no option to study Canadian English, Australian English or even American English. It is simply English.

Can I let you in on a little secret within the US? Do you know how we treat any American who proclaims there is an American language? We laugh at them. For instance:
"Those darn foreigners, why can't they learn to speak American?!" Yes, we laugh at anyone who even suggests such a thing. Its a joke. I have actually heard a friend of mine say that, everyone in the room laughed at him for it.

Let me explain something to you, humor is subjective to each person. What you find funny might not be funny to another person. That is just how it is. If humor to you means you and others can poke fun at others but do not enjoy when others poke fun back, that seems a bit hypocritical.

Explain away but please make a point instead making absolute judgements. That is labelling people as hypocrites as a generalisation towards some vague direction.


I noticed some of the lighter side of some comments made but just because I do not respond to each person or LOL does not mean it has passed me by. I simply chuckle to myself about it.

How you respond to the lighter moments in the thread is what the community was looking for and they got a response they did not like. **** i feel like i am talking to one of my children.


You seem to think it is all about stalking, bullying or secret conspiracy theories which sort of looks like an attempt to belittle what is going on. I do not need to convince anyone that people are gossiping like school girls about me or my guild. I have heard it with my own ears and that is enough for me to know its going on. If you do not want to believe people gossip about others in game, maybe you are not playing the same game because its a fact of this game. People gossip about others.

Gossip is bad and its normal get over it. Better still go watch Gossip Girl it may help you to deal with the meanies in this world better.


Merely a game? The game is a set of computer coding, we are talking about actions of real human being towards other human beings. I think that might be the problem. People have this mistaken belief that other players are not real, that they can act however they want because by bringing up the maxim of "It's just a game!" and acting as though any behavior towards other players is to be accepted because certain individuals who lack self control or respect of others.

You did not make a point in your paragraph it is unfinished.


If DDO could set up a server to house these certian individuals away from the rest of us mature, adult players, that would be ideal. Let these players tear each other up on their own private server so they can leave the rest of us to play the game.

Mature players in an MMO does not equal reality. Immature players in an MMO equals reality. If you cannot figure this out then your feelings will always get hurt.

I am not suprised that you are so 'passive/agressive', you really have no idea about who i am or what my belief system is do you? You failed to address anything else in what i had to say, you selectively picked one thing and ignored everything else... what does that say about your character? Would you like to attack my reading comprehension again? My nationality perhaps? Maybe my religion? Is there something else that can distract from the fact that you have nothing to argue with except your opinion.

People will do what they do, and you are blinded to that fact, you think that you should be able to tell them what the "correct behaviour" is and they should all fall into line. That is a dream utopia and certainly not where i currently reside.

When several on here even outright admit they hope the post gets closed and from the "humor" directed at this thread shows and proves my points. Most, if not all the negatives slights, jabs, insults are coming from the people who say I do not know what I am talking about ITG's and the like. To make it even more grand, after Q points out that what you are doing in a way is direct malice and the like, you all quickly flip around as "just good fun and humor" The whole time belittling away, insulting, trash-talking to no end, it is ok as long as you end it with terms like "gosh, chill it is just a joke....mate" See I KNOW that type of ruse of a humor attempt, it is about demeaning a person and at the same time getting away with it. To add insult to injury, you flip the insult you just pass off as a "joke". In that way, you get away with insulting and you make it seem that they are fools (another insult) for "just not getting it"

I understand fully with the likes on this thread I am dealing with. Your claim to being ok with all you do and say is the notion if you label it as a shade of grey....meh...then it is ok. See, criminals and devaints.....they live in the gray area. Why, because to make what they do ok and justifiable in their minds......then they are at peace and have a green light to act and do as the please. Your in fact trying to inject the idea we all SHOULD live in the gray area, that is where you play in and act in. Your free from normal human morality, as there are no rules in the Grey area. Q and I live in the black and white of life and you attack us? So much for telling US to be opened minded, stop talking out the side of your mouths. We do not live in the gray for the fact most of the civilized world lives there to.

Hardly any of you have stopped attacking Q or myself long enough to know what the issue of the post was. You simply saw both on here, you had to jump in. Not that anyone posted any real thoughts of the idea. You attack the person or persons and not the issue, is that what we do now? Are we now in some school yard I am not aware of or are we on a moderated online forum? I bring up the idea of people of sorts acting like kids and the like....and all flip out big time. Unless I was talking about you directly, it would not pertain to you then. You say Q or I are egoistical, what does that make the lot of you thinking this post even talked about you? If something I or a guildmate has done to you in-game then you have every right to group with who you want. If you are taking matters of opinion from a forum into the game to avoid us, that speaks volumes of your character. Really, it does. You of course will probably never acknowledge what you are doing though. That is fine.

I have absolutely no problem admitting what I'm doing. I'm refusing to group with your guild because the only interaction I've ever had with you (on these forums), show you to be the type of person I don't enjoy being around.

You can claim to know my character all you want, but you're sadly mistaken. I don't like being around snitches or whiners. So far, in my experience, that's all I've seen from anyone in your guild. You claim that internet tough guys hide behind their monitors, but that's the same thing you're doing by claiming that message board posts shouldn't translate into in-game reprocussions. A "grown up" would be able to see the hypocracy.

If what you are saying is the correct course of action in regards to arguments off the forums taken in game then alot of people will find themselves alone in questing by others simply for disagreeing with others off the forums. At least your are expressing openly how you conduct yourself with disagreements from the forum into the game.

Personally, I'd rather group with 10 people whom I enjoy playing with than thousands that I don't. More likely, though, it would be people posting egocentric, narcissistic dribble that would find social interaction more difficult.

I of course will not do the same as you, I can leave arguements here where they belong and group with even those I disagree with from the forums in the game with no issue. I guess in that way we are different.

Having a disagreement is one thing. Married people (myself included) have arguments all the time and still manage to move past it for the greater good. My issue here is not about an argument, but about a fundamental attitude prevalent in your guilds' posts.

There's a saying that I constantly reflect upon every time I'm in disagreement with people, be it online or in real life: "If someone doesn't like you, it's probably an issue with them; if many people don't like you, it's probably an issue with you." This line really helps me to look internally before externally when a problem arises. It occurs to me that you haven't looked internally before looking externally. Perhaps you should try it sometime.

If we spoke English the way it was originally "designed," we'd all be speaking the Anglo-Saxon Tolkien used to study, and those who are of a Christian persuasion would be saying something like "Faeder ure, thu thin eort on heofunum" (more or less).

Standard American English is a dialect. Standard British English is a dialect. Standard Canadian English is a dialect. Standard Australian English is a dialect. Standard New Zealand English is a dialect. And there are lots more other dialects spoken in all those places.
