If you want people that spent more times playing the game than on the forum trying to brag, pick Argo.
If you want a normal conversation with people that can use the correkt words for what they are intending to say, pick Argo.
If you have a small e-peen and you need it flufed by others with small e-peens, pick Thelanis.

Top Ten Unbiased facts:

1. Thelanis absorbed Xoriat, which had an extremely active high-end raiding core
2. Thelanis absorbed Tharashk, which has a very strong self-managed community (HouseTharashk.net)
3. Thelanis was known as one of the two Role-Playing servers
4. Thelanis was also known for its Permadeath guild
5. Semi-friendly rivalry between the Xorians, Tharaskians and Thelanians has continued to "up the game" at the high end - Thelanis won the Mod7 unlocking contest this summer, and I believe Xoriat beat Mod3 first, Thelanis beat Mod4 first. I think the combined server beat Mod5 and 6 first, but I'm not sure.
6. There are a lot of pick-up raids, with a mix of friendly hard-core raiders, laid-back roleplayers and good-natured goofballs.
7. I'm pretty much a nobody, in-game, but I've been welcomed into high-end raiding groups to fill the open slots. They may be hardcore, but they are friendly, unless you are demonstrably incompetent.
8. The Permadeathers are very friendly to newbies and there are plenty of people running low level stuff
9. The Roleplayers are also very friendly, if you want to try that.
10. When DDO needed a new forum wrangler/advisor, they plucked her from Thelanis.

Biased, but still a fact:

11. Thelanis has the highest concentration of sexy, saucy, wicked female players of any MMO, anywhere
-note: this is not to say that there are not exceptional women on the other servers - just that there are more of them on Thelanis.
