Exclamation Well I did what you asked...

So I have been having issues with getting disconnected while loading, any area now, and tried to do the port forwarding that was detailed in a post here. It still did not solve the issue. Now I do not know about anyone else, but this is driving me nuts.

First off, if I do what your tech experts say and it doesn't work, then maybe you all need to figure out how to keep a direct connection with the game CLIENT rather the client IP.

Second, I shouldn't need a degree in Networking just to play a game. A game we have to subscribe too, it just doesn't make sense.

Lastly, it would be nice to be taken serious on this for just once. Don't give me an excuse that my machine is old, it isn't. I just got it and have way more than what is reccomended so that is not the issue! And don't treat me like a kid either, I have worked on networks professionally and I do understand how to port forward.

It is bad enough that two years later you still have yet to hit level 20 and add the druid class, but the fact we still have to deal with network and disconnect issues?

well being that they were the ones who told me what to do, and it didn't work, then I might as well try here. Guess that was wrong too huh?

Typical responses by corporations who treat their customers like dirt. In these tough times it would be bad business to do so, especially in an incomplete game.

95% of the time, it's an issue with the router.. it's common in mmo's to have this issue for players. The reason they can't resolve it is they don't know what's causing it on your end, where the issue most likely is. I would put your computer in your routers DMZ and make sure your anti-virus is up to date, to just make sure who's end it is on.. infact i'd try without a router first and have a direct connection to your cable modem.

Just bypass the router, if you have one, for testing purposes only, and connect directlly to the Modem.

If your issues go away, then reset Router back to stock and connect it back up to your computer. If you still have problems then may be you need to try a different router. and if you still are having problems go to WWW.DSLREPORTS.com and navigate to their testing section and run some test on your connection.

You can even run test for a period of 24 hours and it will give you a results after the testing is over.

If you have issues with any test, then call your ISP and talk to them

Well TheBoz, the problem is then that would be the second router I have had to switch out and if the game cannot work without certain routers than I ain't playing. Again the issue of working with what MOST people got would be the model, but Turbine doesn't do that. BTW Boz, I do not join sites that require me to sign up, thanks but no thanks.

Deadz, i tried the DMZ, not working, but thanks anyways.

TURBINE: Why not fix it so that you are the MMO that doesn't hang people up on router issues? Can't be an industry maverick huh? Gotta go with the screw overs. Well I do have options, and I can't wait to excersise them.

I've done fresh install of windows on my laptop and 'reset all defaults' on my router and except having to type in my pppoe username/password - DDO works fine for me on my network. No ports needing to be added, no configuration settings having to be made. I would suggest it's a misconfiguration at your end.

Before flaming Turbine for 'hang[ing] people up on router issues' - try posting more details of the problem you are experiencing, e.g. how far does the launcher get - does the game patch, does it load through the main movie, can you ping the DDO servers (check the sticky)

You're much more likely to get help from the community (and this is a community forum with people helping part-time out of their own good will) if you leave the flaming attitude at home.

The game works with any router (or firewall). The fact that you are too thick to know how to work your own equipment properly is hardly the fault of either DDO or Turbine.

Man up and direct the fault at yourself -- when you lose the attitude, maybe someone will help you.

Did you try a direct connection to your modem w/o the router, to see if it is the router?

Actually, thanks for the suggestions, but TheBoz and Impaqt actually helped in another thread.

    Here is the breakdown:

For those running a Netgear router and having troubles with load screen drops, do the following-

Log in to your router as the admin, go to WAN setup and look for a ticky box that says "Disable SPI Firewall" and click it, then save the settings and you are done.

As i understand from Netgear's knowledge base, that is a setting you must have checked in order to do any online gaming with a PS3 or XBox, and turns out your PC as well. It is like a packet inspector and every one is inspected before it goes to your computer. Checking this disables that and lets the straight connection work better.

You should not have to do anything else, I haven't, and will be able to play to your hearts content. The router I have is an RP614v4, so it may vary with different models.

So thanks to the many who tried to help, and like I said to them, please remember when people post here, it isn't always the case that they are whining as much as they just do not know where to look.

Once Impaqt started pointing out drivers and updates I thought immediately to look at the router site and found an answer quickly.

Now I can really enjoy a game that is meant to be enjoyed. Sorry for any trouble or tone indifference.
