Count Tasha Raventhorn in as well for this Saturday 3 PM

Note, I didn't make the list but I plan to show up anyway. I figure with the 50% loot weekend there is a good chance there will be room in one of the two groups trying to get raid ready.

One caveat; I have a 2 year old daughter so whether she complies with nap time will largely determine my ability to play.

My experience the last time I did regular Abbot static runs is that not everyone can make it every week. In fact, few weeks there were full groups, so I'm sure there's room if you just show up! And if you show up and the group's full, well, we'll just have to apologize.

    Thumbs up Thank you

Thank you for all who showed up and assisted Phlor in acquiring all but 2 of the sigils. Missing the Left lower and upper frame parts.

Hopefully I will acquire the last two on Sunday or next weekend.

I thought Saturday's get-together was a really good time. Sorry we were slow in getting organized. I'm three sigil pieces short on Beefheart, but we got a lot done.

FYI - I took a couple of screenies of our crazy fire wall Inferno run and posted 'em up on DDOcast.com. Funny.

The Ghosts of Perdition run went really smoothly as well! One of the smoother runs I've been a part of.

    See y'all next weekend!

    Question question about the raid

As you know, I am signed up for the upcoming Mod9 abbot raid. I have ran the Demon Queen, Tempest Spine and VoN raids but have not completed the other higher level raids/quests. IE Shroud, Titan, Reaver.....

Am I putting the raid in risk for failure by not being properly equipped?

I'm not an uber raid item collector, either. I'm sure we'll be fine. My experience in the (soon-to-be-old) abbot is that everyone should have a stack of haste and protection from fire potions (for asteroid room and inferno). So, we'll probably make sure we're all equipped in that regard.

You really really should do Shroud and Reaver before trying Abbot. It's not because of gear you lack, but because those other raids are so much easier that they make a good check of your own readiness as a player.

    Question Shroud and Reaver

How difficult are those raids in respect to the Abbot?

Shroud is about 90,000 times easier than Abbot. Reaver is around 500,000 times easier.

Of course, the new mod 9 Abbot will be easier than the current one. We might expect it to be between the difficulty of Reaver and Shroud.

    Question next question

So the professional recommendation of the DDO forums would have me run either or both Reaver and/or Shroud.

Anyone currently monitoring this thread, be willing to assist me in the pre-raids? IE. Gathering relics in Gianthold or completing and gathering the five shavarath stones.

Any assistance would be greatly assisted. Please send a PM.

Tasha Raventhorn will try to make it again but I might be a little late. I'm flying back from DC on business and won't land until 2 PM EST on Saturday.

Don't sweat it if you get a full group by the time I log on.

Thanks for making room for me this last go round.

Good Luck if I don't see you Saturday

The only issue with getting Reaver ready is that it's one of the longest grinds in the game. It will take you multiple levels on your character to gather all of the relics needed to open up the pre-raid, and then take a good run to "get blooded" - aka - kill the three dragons in the pre-raid. Unless you've got plat, in which case it's just a matter of buying the 60 relics needed on the auction house, running the required Gianthold quests and then running the pre-raid.

It's definitely worth doing, at least on one of your characters, but if time is an issue you should be aware of how long it takes to get reaver ready. It also helps if you have guildies or friends who are willing to give you relics.

The Shroud raid is relatively easy to flag for - all you have to do is run all five of the Vale quests once. You will get five different Shavarath stones, one in each quest. Combine them as directed in the NPC dialog in Meridia and you're ready!

I'd go for the Shroud over the Reaver, personally, but they are both worth doing.

Oh, and Phlor, I'm actually working to get my level 14 ranger Mockduk both reaver and Shroud ready, so keep an eye out for me on Sarlona.

    That's hilariously wrong.

In fact, if you list off some of the real grinds in DDO, I predict that you'll start punching yourself in the skull.

Do the words "mineral II" sound familiar? How about "Tome pages" or "White scales" or "Eldritch Runes"? And let's not forget the king of all-time, "Antique Bronze Tokens"!
