In fact, if you list off some of the real grinds in DDO, I predict that you'll start punching yourself in the skull.

Do the words "mineral II" sound familiar? How about "Tome pages" or "White scales" or "Eldritch Runes"? And let's not forget the king of all-time, "Antique Bronze Tokens"!
Sure, that's all true. I was talking about raid flagging, though. Eldritch runes is one of the easiest grinds in the game! Whaddayatalkinbout?!?!? Now, if you want a specific property on your armor, that might take a while...

Plus, runes excepted, I'd say that raid flagging and optional crafting-related grinds kind of belong in different topics. Most players will want to get raid ready, only specific player types are interested in the Mineral 2 crafting and the like. For me, getting raid ready is more "required" (note the quotes, yeah, nothing's really "required"), while the rest is optional.

Of course, the new mod 9 Abbot will be easier than the current one. We might expect it to be between the difficulty of Reaver and Shroud.
How did you come up with those numbers?

For something like this it's impossible to be really numerically accurate, but I think those numbers are a good guide to the difficulty differential. You can't be truly precise with these things, because for many people the current Abbot is flat-out infinitely difficult for them.

Based on the number of DDO subscribers versus the number who have completed the current Abbot raid, a factor of 90,000 seems in the ballpark (that's also accounting for those players who have been in successful current Abbot raids, but aren't themselves capable of contributing to the hard parts).

The relative difficulty between Reaver and Shroud can be more directly observed. Lots and lots of people have soloed Reaver (even after it was made more difficult in module 8), and many more have duoed/trioed it (which is only barely harder than using a full group). But nobody has soloed Shroud, and duos have only beaten it rarely and with great difficulty.

As an example, I'd be stupid to bet someone $1000 that he can't recruit 11 random players and beat Shroud in one try. Any other DDO raid has about the same winning chance: nearly 100% if you've got typical level 16 player characters. But most people will fail Abbot most of the time.

Yeah, Angelus, I agree. Especially if you remove cheese tactics from the Abbot, then it's easily 90000 times harder. I also agree that the Shroud is harder than the Reaver, if only because I still occasionally see problems in parts 2 and 4. However, if given a choice to only have time to flag one of the two raids, I'd still go with the Shroud. Higher value loot, more chests and more loot farming potential, in addition to good xp (provided you aren't capped) and the ability to craft decent weapons, although there's no doubt that the green steel is not for the faint of heart.

    Exclamation not capped yet

My primary toon, Phlor Ironwood is currently 14 but has enough experience for 15. In fact, I have 1.76 million xp now and by my calculations, getting close to level 16. Don't ask why I haven't leveled. I don't believe I can answer it.

I will keep an eye out for Mockduck and will send you a tell to see your availability.

    Thank you.

    oh,yes,forget to say.

AC's grove is great....3 times mana recover.each one grove can recover about 200-260 mana.

    So powerful for the casters.

Are we meeting again tomorrow at 3 PM EST to help those who aren't flagged for the Abbott?

I am still missing the last two pieces of the sigil.

    Smile thank you

Yesterday with the help Xilo, I was able to gather the last two sigil pieces.

I will be available to help those who still need to get any sigil pieces. Unfortunately, next two Saturdays I won't be able to run but I can run throughout the week.

Just send me a tell and if I am not running with guildmates, I will help out.

Once again thanks for all those who helped Phlor to get the complete sigil.

I need to get four (EDIT: make that none) of them on beefheart, but my cleric is already abbot ready, so it's just a "it would be nice..." thing.

EDIT: Got all my sigil pieces tonight and took care of the vamp in litany! Productive night...

I will assist as much as I can. Please send me a tell when you want to run any of the Orchard quests.

    Default Piece #8

I am still searching for sigil piece #8!!

Right Pincer. Random drop from Orchard quests.

If you ever see me online and are gearing up to run one of these, please send a tell and let me know! I would be more than happy to join in, as I am eagerly seeking this final piece so I can finally do Litany and Abbott! These are the last two quests in DDO that I have literally never run. Everything else is completed on Elite save for 7-8 quests that I have finished on Normal/Hard.

I'm a fervent completist with Kanai and he must achieve access to every corner of the game!

The overtime gods have smiled upon me this weekend. So, I will be available to help get necropolis/preraid quests done!
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

    Thumbs up apology

I saw Kanai on this past Saturday but I had to log off. I added him to my friends list and will add Tasha.

If I see either of you on, I will send you a tell.

Sorry I wasn't on this Saturday, I was taping the show.

Also, one of these next few Saturdays I will be traveling to visit me mum.

Otherwise, I'll try to get on to do some pre-flagging!
