Default Thought re: end rewarding typing.

I was thinking it might be nice if we had a way to designate 2 or 3 items types that we are specifically looking for. Say, rapier, ring, & chain shirt for example. Then, when end rewards were generated, instead fo generating the usual allotment for that quest (say 8 for example,) a higher number, say 15 were generated. If one of your target item types matches then it is added to the 8 that actually make it to you.

One of the most common complaints about end reward loot is how, in many cases, it doesn't match the build. I think maybe something along this line makes sense from both a game play perspective and a role playing perspective. If you just completed a quest for Joe and he can see that you are wandering around dual wielding rapiers, if he has rapiers available he might well offer you one instead of the neat-o great-axe he was going to offer you.

Interesting idea... now granted if I were the dev responcible for such I'd go.. "sure.. we can do that"

but rig it to where there is only a 20% chance that if the item rolled wasn't on the list for it to be re rolled.

If it was re rolled, only rig your choices with a 10% increase of being there. (10% per item).

And to make matters even more worse, those weapons that are deamed so uber, would not be on the possible list. Or that the list would be of a lvl quality lower.

Don't get me wrong. I like the idea... But work is annoying me so I feel like being evil.

Seems like you want to be able to increase your odds of getting a WoP rapier. Its an interesting idea but seems to be a little greedy.

Oh heck, I wasn't even thinking along those lines. And at the same time I'd just as likely possibly loose a WoP shortsword or some such in favor of a bodyfeeding rapier of parrying. Heck I have a blunt fighter I'd like to get more warhammers on.

Really what got me thinking along that line was seeing 4 crossbows in my list as a caster and heavy plate on my evasion tank.

I know what you mean about the end rewards. Even the option that you can set for Class Specific Rewards doesnt help much for casters. You end up with a lot of useless scrolls or Ghost Touch shields.

But I think this idea would be abused to narrow down people's wish lists for certain items. Maybe a caveat that if this option is chosen, you loose out from the top shelf loot table.
