I have recently decided to grow out my hair as I am told its very thick the reason I have decided to grow it out is I want to donate it to locks of love they use hair to make wigs for kids who have lost their hair for medical reasons. My challenge is to all who can grow out their to do so and donate it.

I've donated to Locks of Love twice now, and am almost at my third. I learned about the charity when I was in high school, and a good friend's little sister developed cancer and lost her hair to the treatments. It broke her heart, and a classmate suggested a hair drive for Locks of Love. I've always had long hair anyways, so I clipped the ponytail and donated it. Been doing it (job allowing) since.

I really think that this is one of the best charities around, and it means so much to the kids.

I have also donated once already. Had to get a haircut for a "respectable" job and just couldnt see butt length hair go in the trash knowing there are those unfortunate souls out there in need.

just a note for some silly reason a mod locked a thread like this on darkfall or maybe I should say darkfail after one bad comment from one poster and a question from another on what locks of love was. I can just assume they are idiots there.

Great thing to do. My family is doing that, Son also is a dedicated blood donor. He is over six gallons now. We, the ones who are healthy, are all on the bone marrow donor list as well. A few minutes of discomfort can give someone years of life.

I donated hair to Locks of Love once a few years ago. I might lop it all off again sometime, not really sure yet.

I'd donate blood, but getting blood drawn works me over something fierce. More power to those that do.

However, I am a platlet donor and registered marrow donor so I make do in that way, grateful I can.
