someone drastically overpaid,,, i have sold 2 to the bartender after their auctions failed with 250k gold buyouts for the 4 time over the last 2 months, and or they just like to hotswap and dont shop well

ok, maybe a W/P Rapier, but I still wouldn't buy it for that kind of plat.

I know a +15 intim ring recently went for 4 mil gold on Sarlona, still seems a bit pricey but perhaps worth it for the player who has everything.

I agree that nothing is worth 15 million, and Especially that. +11 for 20 taps, and +15 I have pulled twice since being back less than two weeks. I also pulled 3 +15 Disable and one +15 hide ring. Can't be all that rare..

You may think that until you enter VoD hard and realize that if you have the +15 intimidate item you can no-fail the check but with a +11 item you can't. At that point I would say the +15 item is priceless compared. Jus a thought.

There are two economies... the extreme powergamers and normal people (normal does not equal casual). The extreme powergamers play 8-10+ hours a day and have near everything they need for all 10 capped characters. So they can easily afford those last 4-5 items they still need.

The normal powergamer plays 3-5 hours a day and has a different interpretation of "worth". If a ring costs 20 million gold and a helm costs 200k gold, then I'll work in the helm into my inventory... Unlike the extreme powergamer, I still have other things to buy (bloodstones, planar girds, etc.). That 19.8 million gold I save gets me a lot more utility when used to buy other stuff.

I have to weigh the two choices... 19.8 million to free up a helm slot? Is that worth more than 19.8 million of other items?

Extreme power-gamers don't need any other stuff... So there is ZERO utilty for that 19.8 million gold. There's nothing else to buy.

Now which is the truth worth of an item?

That's an interesting question... I would never pay 120 million gold for a WoP rapier, because that same 120 million could get me a WoP dagger, plus about 15 other high end items that I don't have. So to most people like me, a WoP rapier is NOT worth 120 million.

But to some people it is, since there are no other items to buy.
