Default Hound/Vision window for sub entrance

id like to propose and request a window on the entrance of the subterrane akin to regular quest entrances which would remiind you whether or not you have the hound/vision quests before entering.

Or you can just check your quest log, or even just go a few steps over and talk (READ) what the npc says.

    Works for most of us.

Or the party leader can make sure he tells everyone in both voice and text to check they have the quest.

Adding something like this would then mean you want a window in gianthold for crucible, madstone, pop (and maybe the walkups in case you didnt get your reward), 5 quests in necro, another 4 in desert, etc.

Eventually, players have to take some responsibility to be on the quest.

I vote for finding other ways of remembering, rather than pulling Turbine away from more important issues.

    The end issue is this.

Getting to the end and having someone not be able to get in is not fun. Yes... they should have gotten it before they got there.

    But it's still not fun.

I'd rather an option to simply acquire the quest AT the entrance if you're off timer and forgot.

There is no reason to disparage... people forget and it is dumb to not either be able to get the quest at entrance to quest or simply have a reminder like in Delera's where it says "Find Derek".

personally i find this type of event rather humorous (even when it's me), it increases my enjoyment of DDO.

I want an electric buzzer so I can give people shocks if they're in the final room before the quest, but not flagged.

I've gone on too many runs of both where, after I have personally said, shouted, typed and TYPED, "GET THE QUEST! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE QUEST!," a key member of the group discovers at the entrance that they didn't have the quest and has to drop. Sometimes more than one person even.

    This has resulted in:
The rest of the group having to recall and rerun out there (because we had only 2 clerics for VoD and one forgot quest), attempt to shortman it (which has worked out opkay in the Hound, but has resulted in failure for VoD), and has also resulted in us not doing the quest at all, because the 2 people were on timer, and some people just didn't have enough time to wait for more people to join and then run out there again.

I would LOVE either a reminder upon entering the Sub, or the ability to acquire the quests at their respective entrances.

The differences, for you naysayers, between forgetting Madstone and forgetting this, are that even without the quest one may still participate so only one person (the putz who forgot it) gets penalized, rather than the whole group, and because running out to any of these quests is infinitely easier than running out to VoD or The Hound, and may be easily done by one person. Also, there is not changing of instances, so as long as someone has noticed before everyone is in the quest, people can easily recall and run back or simpl wait outside the quest as a marker for where to go (and the map of the area displays roads and such), whereas for the Sub quests, there are multiple instances and no clear map for getting back, and enemies that will kill most players fairly quickly.

Comparing forgetting a GH quest to a Sub quest is no comparison at all.

I think that if you get to the quest entrance and you are not on the quest...after you were reminded to get the quest, that everyone in the party recall and allow you time to get the quest..then run you back through the reset instance to the entrance. Part way through if the caster runs out of bat guano you should all recall, allow the caster to get more bat **** so you can reenter and run back to the quest entrance....then if a cleric realizes they have no heal scrolls you should all recall and run back through and ..........

Or, you can all laugh in their face, call them a *****(which they are) and 11 man it. Catch you on the next run!!

If I forget to pay my taxes I should be allowed to not pay a penalty and......

Personally, I suggest that all folks who are on Khyber who are also too lazy and self-absorbed to check whether or not they have said quest before they enter should be sentenced to running with me for a week with me opening ALL the chests. Such a nerf in their potential loot will teach said n00bs never to forget to check the quests again.

Doing it with 11 is usually OK as long as it isn't the Bard, but doing those raids without a bard is beyond most PUGs. So there's a mess that wrecks the gameplay for 11 innocent people.

As for the tax analogy, it's more like getting arrested because one of your 11 neighbors forgot to pay their tax.

11 man? yes, fine, usually do. however, my most recent occurrence of this was last night in a hound raid on thelanis. 3, not 1, 3 people forgot the quest. the 1 caster, the 1 bard, and the 1 intimitank. this was after the party leader and several others stated several times for everyone to pick up the quest, even singling out somebody by name since they switched characters.

From a different angle... not granting the quest at the quest entrance, in this case, makes it too easy for people to grief others. We saw what happened when Shroud was griefable... but in that case, the griefers were able to benefit from it so a change went in. I suspect no change is going to address this one.

Lotro has a cool thing called "Share". Allows you to bestow the quest to your partymates in the event that they forgot to get it/Dont have it.

It's a stupid mechanism that causes nothing but frustration. There is no good reason why it shouldn't be fixed so that a quest giver is near the quest entrance.
