But that goes back to my first point... where I don't find it necessary to hedge my positions on things. Making your argument seem weaker than it is is a terrible rhetorical strategy. People 'generally' don't post on a forums with the goal and intent to make everyone who reads their post like them. They have an opinion, and they want to be heard.

I understood his intent as well. I don't really agree with it. More to the point, I would suggest if you have overly soft-skin, you maybe shouldn't post on an open forum that has aggressive posters, or at the least, don't read the replies.

It is not a line, a false statement can be proven fa;lse and opinion can not because it is ones own fellings on a subject. The definition of an opinion is that it can not be proven true or false. Maybe that is where you and other may be having trouble.

This is not true once again. An opinion can be wrong.

As anyone knows an opinion is what you perceive to be true. But if someone can disprove it then you can be wrong on your opinion.

Study Korzeibski's (sp?) General Semantics for a little while and start applying that to the supposed "facts" of everyday "reality." After a good pass or hundred through a rather bleak existential nihilism the answer tends to emerge as clearly as the light of day.

Where did you get the idea that I have soft skin? I could not care less what some person on the internet says to me via forum. I think poor manners are wrong no matter the the method of interaction and consequently I agree with the intent of the OP.
