    I would love to see them add spears, flails, spiked chains, or pole arms to the game I just dont really see them doing so any time soon if ever

    But it will never happen. Apparently it's too difficult to hire an animator...
    If there was an extra animator, new weapons would be far far down on the list compared to either new monsters, or fixing old animations.

    That is doubly true because some of the weapons you listed are nearly unanimatable: when it comes to things like a double sword or a double axe, there's just no way you can make a humanoid body move to convince a viewer that a person could wield it without being a bigger threat to himself than to opponents.

    The real question is:

    Which is more dangerous, a ninja nerf or a nerf ninja?

    Hi, I play Generic Fantasy RPG Online, formerly known as DDO.

    It’s still not an excuse. Turbine’s had almost 5 years (2 years development time and 3 years of live time.) to invest in DDO’s animation budget. It’s not like double weapons are tacked on splashbook rules for the 3.5 ruleset.
    Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

    Do you remember how many times they changed staff?

    It's like being interrupted in the middle of a huge project countless times by irrelevant yet mandatory bullsh*t, much like working as a stocker at a store, a gas station attendant, or a photo technician...

    Spears = THF piercing weapon. Gilgalad in the intro to the lord of the rings movie was using one badass spear.

    Spear = THF 1d8 20/x3
    Greataxe = THF 2d6 20/x3

    It'd be a waste of effort to put in a weapon so inferior to what you've already got- what player would use it?

    exactly. Although it would be "cool" these weapons don't get their abilities that make them statistically different and useful, if it be the ability to trip, reach, or throw.

    You just nailed one of the main flaws of the game. Weapon choices are not balanced, you have a handful of weapons that are significantly better than the majority of the weapons. Not Turbine's fault, a problem with the source material. What I believe the game could use are ways to make your junk weapons comparable to the kopeshes and rapiers of the world. Enchancements or feats or favor bonuses or some such.

    Balance, yes, but as a main game balance, not through enhancements or feats...
    Actually balance out the weapons... And to be honest, critical threat and multipliers being different for different weapons is just plain stupid in my opinion. I think your character should be able to pick a few weapons to specialize with, and choose to be able to crit more often, or to have deadlier crits. When you make your character, you choose a few weapons that your character will specialize with(you can change these...). As you level up, you can choose to improve your critical threat range, or your critical damage multiplier. Essentially making any weapon do 18-20/x2, 19-20/x3, or 20/x4. I understand it may not be perfect, but it isn't the weapon that hones these skills, it is the character your playing.

    Next, you just need to fix the weapons. Like, adding a system for miss, hit, direct hit... Of course, with a pick, it will be harder to land a direct hit, but it will cause more damage on a direct hit.(this is more or less what they did with the critical system). A longsword is pretty balanced. You can hit easier with a scimitar, but since it's designed for quick slashing, it doesn't do as much damage. And don't forget the damage typing...a mornigstar should do both blunt and piercing damage, but what happens whe nyou nic your target, and cut them with it? Then it would be slahsing damage correct? Same goes for a pick, what happens when you hit them, but you hit them at an odd angle and the flat side hits them...bludgeon...According to the attack animations for 1 handers, say with a longsword...slash, slash, pierce, slash, slash... etc...

    But then again, this would require a lot of reprogramming and essencially remake the game, as well as the poor armor class system. Think we may see a DDO 2?

    Sorry, this is DnD. If you don't like the weapons and armor system, then your playin the wrong game.
