I honestly hope that the ML leak rumor is just that, and people offload some really awesome loot and are then stuck without it.

That being said, people sure arent entertaining fire-sale offers on these items... so I'm not sure who'd pay that much for an item thats rumored to be garbage in a few weeks...

WoP: Never pulled one, briefly owned one, traded it months ago for a Skiver, and quite happy without one.

Yes, I've read the nerf speculation, but no confirmation from devs. If I had any ML source, I would have put it up for trade long ago. In my mind, D&D rules are if you reach 0 CON you are dead. If the devs wanted to balance DPS, I would expect them to be more creative (e.g. less HPs, more mob clerics healing stat dmg, etc.).

I've always stated that nerfing is the wrong way to go as it just irritates your paying customers and that once you start, there's no end. The whiney, have-nots will just move onto the next thing they feel is overpowered. Maybe Khopeshes are next or Green Steel weapons.

This is a sweet weapon and in no way am I offering a "fire-sale". You won't get many chances to own a +3 wop rapier, so don't let other's paranoia ruin this great opportunity.

Well put. There are plenty of other places to discuss potential nerfs to this game, it'd be nice if just once a trade thread could stay focused on the actual trade.

well if the rumors are true and it effects charisma then youll drop all those sexy trolls to zero real quick and nothign will be able to act instead of it being killed so to me it would be made more powerful

Ok, here's the situation. Obviously, rumors abound about a potential nerf. Could be false, could be something that doesn't significantly impact the power of the weapon, could be completely devastating.

I understand the risk in making a purchase like this now and hence will sell it for significantly less than I would accept just two months ago. So, you roll the dice. If the nerf is nothing then you've just bought the most powerful weapon in the game for the cost of stuff you can pharm back in a month and you'll be high-fiving yourself for weeks. If the nerf hits hard, you are only out stuff you can pharm back in a month. Meh, it's not like you won't be running Shroud every 3 days until Mod9.

There's no way I'm selling this cheap, but then again I am offering to sell where before I wouldn't dream of it. There is no option of waiting until after confirmation or denial to purchase it. If the devs deny or announce a relatively non-impact nerf then this weapon goes off the market or the price skyrockets.

I've been playing DDO since August 2005 and have never pulled a WoP rapier. I acquired two for Jellybean by trade and purchase. If you've run with him you'd know that it isn't just a nice to have weapon. It is a game changer with any other build or weaponry being lucky to reach half his killcount and this is against the most elite players in the game.

It's almost assured that you will never pull one. If you want one, you must do so in this manner. There's plenty of time until Mod9 to pharm Larges. Buck up and get the most uber weapon in the game. Or, sit back and regret not having the balls to act in time and wondering what you're going to do with all the larges sitting in your bag gathering dust.

Thanks for the offers so far. The rest of you with scads of larges you'll never use and no +3 w/p rapier that you'll never pull better get in the game. You'll need to do better than 75 large with no more than 10 bones and 10 chains.

Anyone with 9 toons that runs the shroud 2 times a week pulls 27 large a week. It would take you less than 3 weeks to get enough ingredients to buy the MOST valueable item in the game.

#1 Assuming that all nine capped toons already have all the greensteel items (2-5 each?) they want. Otherwise it would be unlikely that the player has been stockpiling ingrediants for a WoP rapier, when 3 of his melee only have one Tier III weapon and still need another one to be uber in the end-boss fights!

#2 Assuming that you get an above-average distribution of scales and stones, since he doesn't want an 15 of each in that 75 larges

#3 Assuming that a WoP rapier will remain the most valuable item in the game after Mod 9 (Probably, but note that Renegade66 thinks 75+ larges are more valuable at this point)

I never said that. I said that to beat the current offer you'll have to do better than 75 large.

Also, 95% of the time I wield wops. 5% Min IIs for red named bosses. My priority would be toward the wops. Everyone can have Min IIs, to raise yourself above all others, you need wop rapiers and therefore are expensive to get.

Suit yourself though. There are already people out there with over 150 larges and no idea what to do with them AND they don't have a wop rapier and certainly not a +3.

Oh, and every day you wait is one more day that the devs can spend 30 seconds posting something like:

"D&D Core rules state that reaching 0 Constitution means death. We at Turbine have no intention of messing with this core rule."

Once they do, WoP rapiers remain King and the price skyrockets threefold, but more likely you'll be left empty handed with no opportunity to buy one and infintecimal chance of pulling one on your own.

Again, what are you really out if it doesn't work out? Some larges that you can pharm. Big whoop.

Be careful of how you read turbine's words ... I hear that they worked for the Clinton campaign.
