With all the fighting over "what is epic" I think this is a case where we need to divert from D&D rules somewhat. Frankly most of what we are using as weapons at L16 (hell at L12) are so overpowered that they would be epic by the book. The monsters are similarily overpowered to match our weapons. The bottom end of epic for us probably is GS or equivillent.
Is a monk's unarmed attack considered a natural weapon, and therefor, once the monk gains epic DR his unarmed attacks are also treated as epic weapons for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction?
On a side note, regardless of how epic DR is overcome, I really hope that if we ever see epic levels, or heck, even at level 20, that most creatures do not have epic weapons (unlike how every monster past level 4 has magic weapons) so that this epic DR actually means something.

I still have a question:
If a monk becomes a lawful outsider, what happens to their previous race?
For example, does a halfling still get +1 size bonus to AC?
Do they still have a penalty to their carry capacity?
Are they still eligible for halfling luck enhancement?
Are they damaged by outsider bane or halfling bane (or both)?
Thoughts on Monk 17 through 20.
- Shadow Walk is going to be a godsend to my Monk because Ill be able to sneak as if hasted(no more drinking pots), and for running past a big chunk of a quest where fighting/killing mobs is unnecessary.
- Spawn Screen will be nice if we see more Undead in the following Mods.
- I thought Monks aready stopped taking falling damage? That is, Untouchable has not taken falling damage from jumping off of places like the Vale Overlook and The Pit since being 15 or 16. Perhaps you mean that Monk's Slow Fall is considerd Feather Fall for the speed at which they fall and the durration they are in the air. Although if it worked with things like Anti-Gravity(Reaver) and Wind Jets(Monestary of the Scorpion) that would be fantastic.
- 10DR/Epic is really great. Also getting the Outsider immunities such as; Hold Person is a nice addition too.
As a personal note; I wouldnt mind seeing "Tounge of the Sun and Moon" as a +5 bonus to Haggle/Bluff/Diplomacy/Intimidate and maybe UMD.
My monk also has not taken any falling damage (without a FF item) since whatever level the last Slow Fall upgrade was. Except for maybe a few points in Reaver.
I like Slow Fall a lot, but I also like being able to fall faster than feather falling. The fall speed on a currently capped monk is about as slow as I would like it. It's nice to be able to drop without taking damage but also without having to wait to get aaaaallllll the waaaaaaaay dooooowwwwwwwwnnnnnnn. Maybe I'm just impatient.
Definitely. I'm really excited about the DR. I just hope that it won't be commonly bypassed.
Timeless body is a bit underpowered for a level 17 ability.
Adding a reduction to "touch of doooooollllllrrrrrrrttth" etc. to half time per level, per death, would make sense.

AKA, Cb,Cg,Cj,Cl,Co,Cp,Cq,Cr,Cs,Ct,Cw,Cx,Cz and...Edvard. All the other C's were taken.
If timeless body can make monks become immunity to detrain level beam from beholders, it will be awesome!
And one more thing, can we get a pair of glowing eyes, like running with devils, when we hit level 20?
Mr Eladrin just a question about perfect slowfall. Will it actually cause u to perma featherfall? I only ask because often featherfall is annoying (ie Coalesense chamber and Litany of the dead force trap area) and makes things more difficult and time consuming
You realize that slow fall is toggleable right?

As per the 3.5, the outsiders are considered aligned to bypass any DR they are attuned to do (in this case x/law.)
Creatures in DDO have been shown doing that...so HOPEFULLY we CAN smack the demons without cold iron once they make their debut as well as any other high-ranking chaotic DR beings (where are the Slaads--perma foe of monks?!)
And yeah, scrap worrying about all the rest...I want gold glowie eyes at l 20 too!

The D&D rules do not say that.
More importantly, monks have already been beating DR/Law since level 10 (a form of DR only seen on Tharak Hounds and players in green armor)
While this is category or race specific, it often is followed for the same principle of any major alignment outsider (look at devils and demons and see this holds true for their alignment as well.) A template outsider cannot guarantee that as it simply is for any or all outsiders, and not necessarily a alignment-oriented one in a major manner.
For example, let's look at Inevitable:
http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=169680
An inevitable’s natural weapons, as well as any weapons it wields, are treated as lawful-aligned for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.
And as mentioned as Slaad:
(MM 3.5 page 228 under combat: )
A Slaad's natural weapons, as well as any weapons it wields, are treated as chaotic-aligned for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.
This has been a principle of outsiders since 3.0 (at least they got rid of that stupid earlier DR method) and needs to be understood outsiders don't always get DR and the natural means of attacking it, but majorly aligned with a principle of good evil law or chaos (or both in the two axies) do.
So yes, becoming a LAWFUL outsider suggests all weapons they hold as well as natural attacks (remember, Ki was limited to unarmed only attacks monk weapon attacks and ki weapon attacks; it is implied [but I cannot guarantee it is and will be implimented] that ALL weaponry weilded now have this for the purpose of damage reduction.
But I'll give up such detailed decisions if they promise us glowy blue or yellow outsider eyes! Yay
