Default dragontouched robe setup vs. bluescale robe setup

    Here's my current setup:

    mainhand: superior pot 6
    offhand: shroud +cha weapon
robe: blue scale (greater lore, pot 7, spell pen 7)

    dragontouched setup:

mainhand: swap between superior lore weapons
    offhand: shroud +cha weapon
robe: gfl, spell pen 8, greater pot 7

Last night I got lucky with some runes and got the first two setup, I just need to grind for the last part.

Obviously on non crits my current setup does more damage. But which setup does more damage on crits? Superior potency with greater lore, or superior lore with greater potency? Or is it a wash?

Being able to free up my gfl slot would be nice, but don't know if its worth the grind if I lose a bunch of damage.

I don't have the vod glaciation combo... haven't ran vod on my sorc enough. Jerks always want me to swap to my cleric.

Personally, I think the blue scale robe is outdated and leads to lower capability. The main garment should be greater spell pen.

Lore only effects crits. which in most cases means elemental spells. However, the new content is too resistant or has too many hit points to make elemental spell splashing efficient. Finger, FTS, .... or CC spells is the way to go along with other spells like cloud kill. 90% of what you throw will require a save. Draconic robe with Greater spell pen will be more useful. In situations where you know your going heavy elemental, then swap out a superior lore weapon set (i.e. fighting Sorjek). This is better than blue scale anyway.

Unless your famous as Mr. Disintegrate, Ditch that outdated blue scale ****.

Switching down from superior to greater potency will reduce your overall DPS. Bigger crits won't make up for that, especially since greater and superior lore both have the same +9% chance to crit (getting a crit at all is more important than how big the multiplier is).

But obviously, if you find a way to use the Super Lore while keeping Super Pot in-hand, that's better.
