Can't take Dex enhancements from multi classes

So, I don't know if this is a new thing, or if it's always been this way or what. I have a 12 ranger/2 fighter/2rogue. So I went to re-set my enhancements because I don't really need the full tier of human versatility and I can't take rogue Dex I and the Ranger Dex I II and III. Has this always been this way or is that a new thing or what? Thanks for the help, much appriciated.

You can only take one set of stat lines for classes for the same stat; ranger, or rogue, dex, but not both (obviously you want to take ranger so you can take all 3). you could, for example, take paladin cha and fighter str, but again not paladin cha and sorceror cha.

however, you can stack in racial stat enhancement lines (so you could use human adaptability: dex to get +4 total dex in enhancements if you desired).

It's been like this since the enhancement revamp so long ago.

This holds true for all identical (or almost identical) class abilities: cannot take both rogue and ranger spot/search/listen enhancements, nor paladin and fighter toughness, not fighter and rogue haste boost, as examples.

Right on. I kinda thought that. Kinda sucks cause I set in the rogue Dex, so now I'm going to have to wiat 3 days and re-set the enhancements again.
