    Oi oi Strakeln:

Just my $0.02 worth, I took no offence to what you have posted. The joy of posting something on a public forum is that if you don't have the stones for what will come, you probably ought not to have posted it in the first place. Thus, by posting our accomplishment, we, as a guild, opened our self to criticism from those who have no wish to partake in PD playstyle.

On a positive note I will state that some of the posts caused me to have an "Oh SH**" moment as I obviously had not thought everything through, such as taking into account the "force field" issue. I guess I could have vamoosed if things had gone badly (I keep teleport loaded) but didn't have ddoor loaded so the group as a whole was committed to success or reroll. That having been said, I would have had to be the last dwarf standing before I pulled the shoot coz we just don't bail on our mates.

On a broader note a big thank-you to those who have sent their congratulations and, if this thread has inspired any of the posters to come over to the "dark side," there are now PD guilds on all servers, with many varying rule sets (some being very very challenging incorporating bare bones or Iron man rules). All I would suggest is that you try a number of different PD guilds, in order to find one that fits well with respect to guild interaction and your playstyle.

    Cheers and stay safe!!

I'm not really sure how a response to a comment about a "backhanded compliment" relates to death row, but I'm all ears if you'd like to explain.

On the other hand, I bet a lot of people on death row would love the interpretation of "perma-death" to be true.

Your faulty logic is amazing. Spin it however you like. In PD, your characters have a chance at becoming permanently dead, as the name implies. In a PD world, no one would raise a criminal, hence he'd still be dead.

why not? its not a good only spell. even if it was, res and raise would still be options. do you think there are no evil clerics in dnd?

Considering your inability to explain your own logic in a clear manner, I fully understand why you are incapable of understanding mine.

Perhaps you meant to quote something other than what you originally did when replying to me? The typical use of a quotation is to set the context for your comments. I encourage you to take a second look at the post you quoted in your original reply and see if that is really the context you intended to convey.

Since you obviously didn't read my response to you, I'll rephrase the important part and color it red for you, in the hopes that it causes you to actually read before replying:

How does a response to a comment about a "backhanded compliment" relate to death row?

Congratulations to my friends on Thelanis in the Sublime Guild.

Regrettably, members of The mighty Dink Confederation though three were tagged for the Dragon Run were unable to be there. It is my hope that soon Valhalla will also be ready to run the dragon at some point in the future. Since I have only played PD in my DDO experience, I know the work that goes into getting a character to the higher levels.

Reading the comments of my friends from Thelanis has really made me feel proud to be long associated with that guild. If the comradery that is expressed on a daily basis within that guild is mirrored in Valhalla then we will also be a success. While some have pointed out that gear makes a difference, it also didn't make a difference in party wipes where I and others lost lvl 10 and beyond toons such as in Xorian on hard (when half didn't know about needing death block items due to no spoilers rules), That nasty night on Artaxia Caverns on hard when the Duregar Greater Command spells and such took out six lvl 10s and beyond, and other memorable victories and deaths.

To those who may call PD a semi death mode, I know of many characters who have refused legal (by guild rules) rezzes - and high level party wipes or that one toon which can rez going down is a huge blow not only to the individual who sees maybe a year worth of effort go down ....sometimes as in the case of one high end cleric due to lag (Hamilton lvl 11 cleric).

The difference in PD is when the legal rez option can't be used - due to no cleric - a cleric death or a party wipe....when you see the message that a character that has been running in high end groups and with whom you've developed your own characters to share synergy....that So and so has left your guild... a profound silence was often felt.

If you haven't played PD you don't know the shock that can send through a community of friends.

Your feeling of accomplishment is fully merited!

ahem....congratulating someone for "feeling" they accomplished something is like saying "I don't think you actually accomplished something, but I'm glad you feel like you did." It's what's called a backhanded compliment. Whether or not it was meant that way, that's what it's going to communicate to most people (there, everyone happy with my semantics now?).

and...the greatest weapon isn't knowledge of the quest, it's the ability of the player(s) in the party. You can know everything about a quest, but if you can't execute it or communicate/work well with your partymates, you have nothing.
Only I can properly change my own writing to better state what I meant.

And, Lessah, you have mail on Lessah

I looked through the thread again, not once have I quoted or referenced Wizzly.

    Are you confused?

    Smile Congrats

This a great achievement for the Sublime guild. Great job. I get a kick seeing your members in Stormreach (thelanis). We all try not to die when we play DDO but you all take it to a different level, I think it is difficult for some to understand it. I can't wait to read and see screenshots of your next big accomplishment.

The comment you "fixed" for me had nothing to do with anything you said. It was directly referencing a comment by Wizzlybear.
