Yes, tehre are indeed RR Armor +8 Bracers in the game.

I had copied the AC frommy original Cleric Monk build way back when Monks were first introduced. So I missed a lot I guess.... I never really thought about focusing on AC as I'll be rather Slot starved as it is but I'll do a recalc and see what we c an come up with with the Icy Raiments

Consider, Way of the Clever Monkey as your Animal Path.

+1 Saves Vs Traps & +2 on all elemental Resists that stacks with your spells. Better than 5Hps IMO.

Yeah, so my vague thought is: Run in this "tank" configuration for trash mobs, being a nearly-invincible Cleric and *maybe* a semi-legit extra front-liner. Then usually swap to more of a "true Cleric" equipment set for Elite bosses, since Elite bosses can probably smack you around even at mid 60s anyhow, and your party will likely need you in more of a health-bar-monitor role?

This is purely hypothetical. Will you let us know how it turns out?

That is exactly my Plan of attack with this cleric.

I'll be rolling him this weekend sometime.... WIth the build so dependant on Shroud gear, I'll be running that quest quite a bit so this guy might take a little while to Level cap.... But I should be able to cap him before Mod 9. Thats the goal anyway.

Seeing more cleric monks nowadays heh.

Just made a guy very similar a week or two ago. Swapped 2 more str for 2 less con I think, but otherwise almost identical. Not so much for the extra damage, but the last 8 str character I ever made ran into a lot of problems looting. Pick up a bit of heavy armor and/or too many weapons from some chests, and suddenly your at medium encumberance (didnt have many +6 str belts running around way back when), and with evasion, and halflings getting 3/4 load, medium encumberance would be a real killer if you ran into a fight thinking you had evasion, and suddenly take full damage from a blade barrier or cometfall or two,. or spam dbfs.

A lot of people go for the kamas for the +2 for centered, but I have too many random potency items, and no sup pot kama to worry about trying to keep centered up all the time and relying on it.

So I was going to go improved crit pierce if I ever level the little guy, and swap out if I need to at some point. Even without stat damaging, a bursting rapier in each hand does way more damage than low crit kamas.

And for the rest of the posts - there is no way I would not have quicken on a capped cleric. Not one that I would bring into raids anyway. I have saved a few party wipes at critical times only, and solely, because I had quicken on and cast that one critical heal that if missed, would have meant the start of a party wipe 5 seconds later.

Someone said they dont fail concentration checks. I watched my combat log in reaver runs say, SUCCEED in concentration rolls, and the spell still fails. I would never rely on random dice rolls when the raid is on the line.

So anyone else who is thinking about it, you sure dont need it at level 5, but if you plan to raid, and are not a uber fast twitch "I never get hit by anything ever and never have lag" player - take quicken at 15.
