Newb Monk Wisdom/AC Question

Having trouble understanding how this works for a Monk.
I have a 17 Dex, 19 Wis and 20 AC w/o equipping items.
When I equip a +1 Wis trinket, raising my Wis to 20 from 19, nothing happens to my AC. I thought Wis was supposed to raise a Monks AC if they were centered?
I have no armor/shields and can generate Ki and use all my stances so I think I'm centered, but raising my Wis does not effect my AC.
When I equip a +1 Dex trinket, raising my Dex to 18, my saving throws all increase but my AC DROPS from 20 to 19.
Why would raising my Dex make my AC drop and why doesn't Wis affect my AC?

With no items, 19 wis and 17 dex, you should be at 17 AC, not 20.

With wis at 20 and dex at 18, you should have 19 AC. You were probably standing too close to a paladin when you were moving things around or had a buff expire (haste, shield of faith, mage armor, etc.)

Yup, many a time has a Paladin confounded me. Test your numbers standing far away from everyone else. He's probably a Halfling, so 19 Dex and 20 Wis is 20 AC.

And if he were warforged (which i'm pretty sure he isn't judging by his wisdom score) he could add 2 more for composite plating.

Close and open your character sheet a few times.

It says i have a 10 base, 4 wis bonus, 3 dex bonus, 1 deflection bonus and 1 centered bonus for a total of 19.

When I equip a +1 wis trinket and a +1 dex item it says 10 base, 5 wis bonus, 4 dex bonus, 1 deflection and 1 centered which should equal 21, but my sheet still says 19.

Can I assume my sheet is just not updating and I really have 21, not 19 AC????

Thinking about Cleric/Monk build... What negative effect does "unbalanced" have?

sheet sometimes doesn't update especially when changing stances

try checking both your character sheet and your inventory sheet (both show your AC).

try reopening them.

if you think it's really a bug - screenshot it and report it as a bug here but might be worth posting the screenshots here first.

Just close your character sheet and reopen it.
