    Default TinydooOoOoom Halfling Kensai

    Ok, so thought of this as some kind of cool fighter build with Kensai, taking advantage of the one big fighter perk, all the feats.

    - The build will have excellent self healing and hit reliably.
    - Feat distribution is fine.
    - Good defence through high Saves, Evasion and nice AC.


    In conclusion:
    Much greater survivability and flexibility by only giving up a tiny bit of DPS compared to a pure Fighter.




    P.S.
    You should really invest into Intimidate. While you wont be able to tank all raid bosses on elite, you will have a good enough Intimidate to gather trashmobs on you, away from more squishy pure DPS-builds.

    Yeah I could probably get in some intimidate, I am not sure if I can max it skill points will be tight keeping up UMD. It would probably still be worthwhile as you say for many mobs.

    I thought it turned out really well, it was in response to people mentioning in a thread about the death of all non 18/2 builds. So, I thought I would see if I could come up with something that would be comparable.

    I think it compares favorably to any Fighter 18-20 build. The Paladin 6 adds in a nice +2 to hit and +4 to damage which offsets the loss of Kensai III pretty well. I still lose the critical multiplier. I could also pick up tier I of any Paladin prestige class, at this point I did not add that in. To me the tier I of at least knight of the chalice wasn't worth the AP cost compared to dropping halfling sneak enhancements.

    So really I gain over something like Halfling Fighter 18/Rogue 2
    -Much much better saves
    -Better AC when needed
    -+1 to hit and +3 damage per swing (Divine Favor/Might vs. Kensai III)
    -Better dragonmarks by a lot with Devoton II and Empower Healing

    Lose:
    -+1 Critical multiplier

    I think that is a pretty good trade. I am not saying it's strictly "better" but to me the DPS trade off make sense (personally I think I win). A lot of people focus solely on DPS though so probably would disagree.

    I don't know how this build would stack up in the game but on paper it makes me drool. Me not knowing part isn't a flame or anything, I really don't know.

    Yeah I thought about that, I was having great difficulty fitting in all the stuff that would work out well. Kensai currently burns a lot of AP unfortunately.

    I could probably sacrifice some saves and drop the charisma enhancements, it would only cost me 1 save on everything and they are already quite high. I may not end up really needing the toughness enhancements either but I am kind of thinking that I will end up needing those hit points.

    The good thing is I could certainly play with the two I would probably try that. A lot also depends if I want another clicky to hit besides divine favor, divine might, haste boost, and power surge. There are already going to be a lot of short buffs to keep track of without adding another clicky attack!

    That's part of the *fun* of playing a Paladin .

    It's worth it though, trust me.

    Just throw it in slot 1 of your skill bar and hit it every 3 seconds.

    Also you can time it so it hits on both swings; double the fun .

    It definitely is worth it, I am currently level 8 on this build and I like it a lot. With dragonmarks and lay on hands I can keep myself healed well.

    The smites and sacrifices also are really nice burst DPS.
