I Am Not A Plat Farmer!

One of my toons names is Heritic and He keeps the house D shop open. I am assuming that most of you have seen me as I park him next to the expensive weapon vender in House D. Then I go to bed. I check it when I get up in the morning, and then when I get home from work. I then log him out to play characters that are FUN to run in quests. I only keep him in there as he is a max haggle toon and if I see something in there that one of my other toons may want he has to pay less for it.

Today I came back from work and sat down at my poor old PC to check the house D shop, and bang, I get a tell right away calling me a dirty plat farmer and how dare I do this and blah blah blah I am a bad guy. He then goes on to inform me that the ENTIRE server thinks that I am a plat farmer as nobody has ever seen me run a quest and I only seem to be in the house D shop. While I don't happen to care if that is what the entire server thinks the next tell insulted my guild as he has gotten the impression from me standing in the shop all day that my GUILD must be plat farmers. In NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM IS ANYBODY IN MY GUILD A PLAT FARMER. We are loot wh*res, there is a diffference. We don't sell any of the **** that we loot or do anything illegal, we just like to run for phat loots and have a good time.

So, to wrap it up. I am not a plat farmer. I don't spam tells to people giving them prices. I don't think buy the house D loot and then auction it. I don't plan to change my habit of leaving a toon loaded into the house D shop 16 hours a day so I can browse it at my leasure. Flame me if you like, but I am who I am and I do what I do. I am a LOOT JUNKEY!

What I believe you are is a guy who is keeping max new items from the House D vendor. I can't prove it and I know someone will come here and say I am wrong but I did a little testing and I believe that the vendor does need to be "zeroed" out every once in awhile. Again, can't prove it, but in the few months you have been doing this religiously I have seen less turnover of items and I frequently see the same items on for a week or longer.

There does seem to be a limit to the number of items allowed and I think you are adversely affecting it.

Having said all that I am not the one who sent a tell nor have I / will I ever do anything more about it than this one post.

For your reference Heretic - My House D vendor mule is Zerxis - he has lived there for about 11 months but logs in and out when I am not actively checking the boards.

Well to be the devils advocate here, your guild name does have farmer in it and people in the world are rather small minded...which begs the question, Why do you leave you toon logged in that much? Why not just log in and check the vender?

You're simply potentially exploiting a situation (the game SHOULD log you out for inactivity but is not working as such ATM,) of not allowing a reset like the rest of us do. Thank you for your honesty. I will let Turbine decide if that is an issue or not and not judge your actions personally. They make the decisions, so the "entire server" can go to....Turbine if they don't like it!

As his guildmate, I see him in there quite often, I always saw it as a benefit. I have always seen many items there, while he is in there. Not sure how it works, but if no one was in there, and you enter and sell stuff, then leave, after a while it will be "empty" for the next guy. I can vouch that though a horrible piker, lycan is no plat farmer. Run with him sometime, and you will see for yourself.
Yes our guild is made up of a bunch of loot *****s, but run with me sometime, and you will see, I give much more away, than I keep.

Because him standing in the House D vendor means the items sold to the vendors wont refresh.

the list of items sold to the vendor gets wiped if the instance has been empty for five minutes, just like any instance resets.

Its like someone holding open a quest while the party rez's out and heals and comes back.

I for one am glad that you park your barter bot there. I have purchased two disruptors ( one RR even ) and two vorpals ( another RR item here as well) while you were sitting there before. I never thought you were a plat farmer and don't really care what the rest of the server thinks. ( I do and I don't , know what I mean?) . Keep up what your doing..unless someone can PROVE what your doing is detrimental.

pfft...any player with more than two months of experience knows the plat farmers hang out in Gianthold, not the House D vendors.

I bought a WoP raiper on the house D vendor a long long time ago. Dont know if anyone was holding the shop open but 3 people were in there when I hurried up and hit buy.

I dont know what rules if any he could be breaking though thats not up to any of us.
