    Default fighter capstone suggestion

how about a boost to the DCs for the feats such as trip/sunder/stunning blow. After all fighters are supposed to be masters of combat, rather than damage machines like barbarians.

Really good idea. Perhaps as a bonus when using sword and board or two handed fighting only? At the moment a fighter is more or less compelled to use an offhand weighted/vertigo weapon if you want your stuns/trips top go off sonsistently on high end mobs.Which means you either have to go twf or do rubbish dps. Would be nice to have a third option.

    Will you NAILED IT.

We all know Trip is a joke. DCs definately need to be upgraded for fighters. This right here can level the playing field with the fighter/barbarian DPS argument without ever changing the math OF the DPS.

Good suggestion. However, Kensai gives this already (bonus to DCs).

Yuck, something 100% completely useless against bosses unless I'm eager to Sunder his AC.

I want something better than that!

Generic Melee: You gain yet another bonus feat that you stopped needing at level 6.

No offense garth, but that'd be a terrible capstone...If they really want Fighters to be the masters of Tactics, make it so we at least have a chance to affect red+ named enemies with Tactical Feats. Edit: Heck, even a % chance of each combat Feat you have going off on its own would be better than that :P

/not signed. This would have the effect of forcing all pure fighters into tactics builds. IMO capstones should be something that benefits all types of class builds. For barbs, it should be based upon rages. For rangers, it should be based upon evasion or spells. Full pallies should either get a boost to their universal feats (lay on hands, smites, spells) or their auras (maybe something for themselves this time!). Fighters are a flexible class, the only real common denominator are hitpoints and damage. So the initial capstone should be based upon enhancing those features.

Fighter capstone - Ranger transformation. You gain all the feats and abilities of a level20 ranger. Activate this ability whenever you want extremely high dps and AC. And as a special addition for elves - Dwarven ranger transformation - you gain the HP and con of a dwarf allowing you to participate in front line combat as a true melee character was meant to.

    or possibility #2

FotM Transformation - You gain all the feats and levels of the latest FotM build (because we all know it certainly won't be you). Your shield transforms into an identical weapon as your main hand weapon (because we all know you won't be killing anything with just one weapon). disclaimer - no, you can't be a caster.

Seriously though, I have a tactics ftr/rog mutt, and as good as the suggestion is, I have to agree with others that a strictly tactics capstone may not be all that good for pure ftrs.

If I had to make a guess I would say it will have something to do with increaseing damage. Perhaps increasing the benefit of weapon specialization or an alacrity bonus.
