    CON: at level 16 most people will have a +6 item, and can often get a +2 tome (giving you 18-20). Other sources for HP are toughness feats (see minos-legens helm ml11), False life items, and shroud HP items. I would say that good Hp on a cleric are in the 300ish range. Depending on your play style, you can make do with less (if you avoid combat or have good ac/saves), or require more (if you love to melee).

    WIS: if you are just going to be a heal-bot then you don't need to max wisdom. If you want to be a necro/enchantment focused cleric (for insta-kill, crowd control spells) then you will need as high of a wis as possible. max theoretical wisdom:

    18 base
    4 Levels
    3 Cleric Enhancements
    1 Human Adaptabiity
    3 Shroud Insight
    6 Enhancment Item
    (1) Abbot Trinket (very difficult to get, almost impossible for most people)
    (3) Alchemical (short duration, most people dont consider this
    3 Tome
    2 puddle stance (monk)

    Just a few quick things when you see things like 300 HP on a level 16 cleric.

    I know when looking at a level 5 and you have like 60, you wonder, how can I get there,

    As mentioned, at end game, you could assume for those calculation that your CON is about 8 points higher (6 from item, 2 from reading a tome).

    Wearing a Greater False Life item which gives +30 HP
    Have completed Giant Hold Quests which give a +10 HP free bonus.
    You have at least the Minos Helm for Toughness (16-19 HP) and some toughness Enhancements. You have also taken some Racial Toughness Enhancements for another 10-30 HP.

    128 = 16th level times 8
    64 = 18 CON
    20 = Heroic (every character gets this)
    30 = GFL
    10 = Giant Hold
    30 = Racial Toughness (optional if you want to spend AP on them)
    19 = Minos Helm alone

    301 HP...with hardly anything all that special.

    oh and feel free to add me to your friends list. I have a few low level characters whose bios just read...."Ask me anything, I will answer you if I can...I have many capped characters"

    Keyes:
    1) Highest level devotion item you can get
    2) Cleric Life Magic Enhancements
    3) Ability to look at redbars while also moving thru quest
    4) Mana conservation
    5) Play with your offensive spells and know when it's a good time to cast them. At low levels ogres can pretty much one shot most melee characters with a crit, but if you command them they become very tame and the mana cost is more than offset by the reduction in damage the party takes.
    6) Keep yourself alive at all costs (you go down and the party is more likely to go down)
    7) Big picture-completion of quest is more important than keeping everyone alive. As a cleric you'll run across countless types of players. Some players are experienced and prepared and will suceed in a quest with or with-out a cleric. Some players are ill-prepared for one and are either new to the game or to the class they are playing and are complete resource drains on you. You end up spending all of your SP on one member of the party and when you do need it for the others you don't have any and then the party wipes. In those situations its best to communicate to the individual being a resource drain to change his tactics or to let him die a few times or just leave him dead.

    Always keep in mind that Scrolls, wands, and potions are all on different timers. If you go into your options, you can click the options that will show the cooldown on effects in your hotbars.

    In regards to potions: only certain potions "funnel" (meaning clicking on a potion in a hotbar will affect whichever character you happened to have targetted) something like "remove disease/poison/curse, lesser restore... etc." inbetween scroll and wand use can save you some mana.

    For example: wand - scroll - wand - potion - wand - scroll - wand - potion - wand - scroll... etc.

    If you choose to use wands a LOT and you will inevitably find yourself strapped for money, so downgrade the wands you use commonly depending on the group.

    for example: use cure lights (out of combat topping off); cure mod (in combat) in pick up groups... use cure mod (out of combat topping off); cure serious (in combat) in regular groups.

    If the party is at full health bars, bust out an aid wand to give yourself some breathing room.

    However, play smarter not harder. If you ever get annoyed because the group is playing without considering their own health bars... keep casting aid on them via wand. After a while you'll find that they'll start drinking some healing potions between fights.

    If I can give you any advice... pick up a striding item, and haste potions. There are times when the casters will toss haste only on those in the thick of melee combat.

    I wouldn't recommend a pali level. towards end game it's all about the mass buffs. one less level of cleric means your spells don't last as long at the level that you want it. Also can mean less hit points and not sure what enhancements you lose out on. One level wouldn't hurt as much but two can hurt a lot until the level cap goes up.

    Position the party health display where you can check the red bars easily. The default location does not work for everyone. I've heard of one player putting them near the center of the screen; that might be a bit much. You want them difficult to miss, but not too obscuring.
    So, I hear that one day we may get Familiars...
