XP sp3 g-force 9800 GT and DDO forcing system crash

I have the following system
Asus p5k se board
Intel e4500 dual core proc
Corsair RAM 2 gigs
e-VGA g-force 9800 gt video card

with a clean install of XP pro sp 3 fully updated
DX 9c
all the latest drivers installed

everytime i try to run DDO it will go all the way up to loading my toon and crash my computer down to a reboot
i see lots of stuff online after researching my issue and can't seem to pin down why this game and no other causes this problem
any suggestions?

Does that include the optional Net Framework 1.1, 2.0 & 3.5?

Framework 1.1 is required for DDO.....

Just something I thought I'd mention, since it's easy to overlook when no more updates show up on the update page.

The only other thing I can think of is to activate all the troubleshooting options and turn them off one by one once you can actually log in, to narrow down your problem.

have .Net 2.0
thanks...biggest problem is since the system goes from my toon loading to direct shutdown i get no error in the event log

.net 2.0 is not .net1.1 and you also need sp1 for the .net1.1

You can have multiple .nets on your computer, You must install .net1.1 to play ddo
