    Howdy Pappo!

Mississippee is DDO Old School. My gear reflects the way I play. I purposefully geared her to be able to do many things, as she is a multitasking Diva extraordinaire I have never tried to tweek her gear out because I never saw the need. I always said playstyle matters most when it comes to bards, and that clearly holds true today. Melding your bard to your playstyle is the name of the game. Versatility for the win.

One of my goals with her was to show that a simple set up could play and do extremely well in all areas of the game. That's why this build became so popular, any one could play it. I wanted to show everything a bard can do. The other benefit is the huge myriad of different avenues that could be taken. So this is why I think this build went down in DDO as one of the all time most built, requested and played builds. SO fun for me to provide support for it over the years. I've advised many, many day 1 players, right up to the top tier bard builders/players out there.

Here is what I run around with to this day on Mississippee:

    Armors:

+6 Soul Stealing outfit of Lightening. This is my shiny fabric. Not kidding when I said I wore dresses that shine!
+8 Chilled robe of acid guard 4. This is my Shroud armor. When things heat up, I will switch to this armor and hit a Fire Guard Cold.
+8 Flurry Outfit of Vitality. Armor bonus, double strike, and hit points. DPS is my biggest weakness. If I'm in DPS range I already have it under my control somehow. I'll be looking for a fun new threads in this spot.

    Cloak:

Stormsingers Cloak. Back in the day the only anthem item. Great basic bard item almost all bards start out with.
Deadly Cloak of Accuracy. I'll slip on when I want to boost my DPS.
Sage Mantle. I'll use sporadically to boost my DCs
Nightsinger's Mantle Elite. Sonic + Blindness

    Necklace:

Charming 5 Necklace of Nullification 130 Enchantment focus 5 and Nullification 130.
Haggle 15 - In town only of course

    Trinket:

Head of Good Fortune Small boost to saves

    Belt:

Belt of the Sun Soul. Con +7 Insightful Wis +2 Concentration +15 (very important. I'm often running in and around mobs with a dress on. I do not want to be interrupted!)

    Rings:

Hardy Ring of Resonance. Con +11 Sonic 125 - Hit points and Sonic boost
Fortified Ring of False. Life Hit points and Fortification

    Gloves:

Iron Mitts. Strength/DPS Dam boost, Healing Amp, hit points, spell craft +13 and resistance

    Boots:

    Cannith Boots of Propulsion

    Bracers:

Bracers of the Sun Soul Wis 7, insightful con +2

    Goggles:

Supreme Tyrant Greensteel Goggles. Air Guard, spell power 150, CHA Skills +6, Wizardry 6

    Weapons:

Resonance Screpter of Wizardry/Devotion Septer of Healing Lore. Sonic 150, 275 spell points, +30 spell power, Devotion 138, Healing Lore 9, +24 spell power
Devotion Scepter of Healing Lore/Epic Elite Wizard Ward Orb. CC and healing boosts

Bard "end game" items to consider: (will be adding items)

Epic Litany of the Dead - with Anthem and water breathing slotted
Epic Chord of Reprisals - Charisma +11, Resonance +144, Perform +20, Soundproof, Roar, Sheltering +24
    Halcyon Boots
Shadow Dragonhide armor - though Mississippee is NOT amused that this dress doesn't shine!!

What is everyone's favorite gear for their bards nowadays?

My original bard was your Queen build. I have tried the Exalted Bard, and Banshee, but I like CC and Group support and keep coming back to the Queen.

    Happy questiing in 2017

Miss still specializes in CC, group support and healing. Bard requires serious multitasking and a build that does not shut down any integral part of your goal. Besides that, the genius behind the Mississippee build is its simplicity. It was designed for a beginner to use out of the box, yet it gives a very experienced player a broad stroke that you can take in various directions. I spent years helping folks take their bard in all kinds of directions, and kudos to the bard community for offering support to ensure we had all the facts. That is proven factually by this very thread.

For those thinking of rolling a Mississippee Queen bard, or thinking of reading back through 7 years of posts, this is a build that anyone can play, and more players can master than any other. Playing a bard is much more about HOW you play it then WHAT your gear is. There is no cookie cutter build for bard. It wouldn't work. You need to understand everything you are doing, and you need to tweak your build based on your likes/dislikes.

Because on a bard, if you aren't using it, you are misusing it!!

Yeah, a tad bit of farming and crying involved through that hunt!

I've done 20 Bard and 18/2, finally settled on 18/2 Rogue because I like to trap and find secret things! (Was also easier for leveling during heroic levels)
and even with the +4CHA, +25 SP and Heal/Wail it really isn't a big enough deal to take the capstone and not have evasion. Heal was good, Wail was too hard to fit items in for Necro DCs and was useless ultimately.

I'd be interested in taking a look. My MQ's been capped at 30 for a while because...max haggle is very useful for purchasing a cargo hold full of amenities and dishing out under 100K plat.
