    Angry searching for logon server

Ok here we go again, searching for logon server (attempt 20 out of 20)

Took me 5 hours to log on tuesday Dec 30. Same problem again today...

I pay to play yet there aren't enough severs to allow me to play, what the heck. Then I file a report and I get no response. Why is noone dealing with the issue? Oh, yea that's right it's the Holiday Season, you don't have time.

I apologize for the attitude but, I believe I have fair reason to be upset. I am not looking forward to trying to log on for 5 or more hours before attaining success. But, if I want to play I have to continue to try to logon. This is not what we pay for... oh I know, this part is free. Grrr...

If this was a Turbine(DDO) issue, wouldn't more people being having the same issue you are describing. I mean taking five hours to finally log-in is a fairly noticable problem, if it was happening to alot more people then just you.

Granted i know people do have problems logging in from time to time and sometimes it is a result of the servers being down, or a internet snafu. What you describing something you would need to fix on your computer.

You need to submit a DXdiag(follow one of the sticky post at the top of tech forums)

And if you want you can even head over to Dslreports.com for some testing

A test to detect pactet loss for over a 24 hour period from three different locations. it will give you a report at the end of a 24 hour period.

A test acess the quality of your internet connection, packet loss, and can identify any problem router between you and the test thats being done

Also, if your firewall is on turn it off on your router and computer, if you are using Vista turn off UAC. And If you can and are using a router bypass the router alltogeher(testing purposes) and conect directly to the modem. Then the last thing you can try is try a different NIC card in your computer to see if that helps.

well... I did updation my verizon internet security suite. The problem seemed to start after the program update, I will shut off firewall and see. I had checked the firewall rules and DDO is ok'd. I will shut it off competely and see if that is the problem. Thank you for your time and patience with my frustrations.

I shut off firewall and I was able to log on immediately. I turned firewall back on immediately as well. I won't know for sure if that was the problem till tomorrow when I try and log on again. Just in case that was not the problem. It is confusing though because the approved firewall list included DDO launcher and DDOclient.exe as ok to communicate. Anyway, thanks for your time and patience with my frustration Theboz. You may be the reason I am on line now and I appreciate that more than you know! Happy New Year!

I myself had this issue too recently and the only thing I can tell you is to go onto another sever if you dont have a toon on another server make one and then wait for a gm to help you, tell them you cant log-in on your regular server, give them a name, and make sure you tell them cleaning up old conections. I was back online within a half hour

Oh and by the way, your problem is nothing like what the OP needed help with, so next time make your own thread.

Glad to hear that it was a somewhat simple fix.
