Default A level of Fighter, or not?

    Level 2 Pally: Jennysmith

    STR: 16
    DEX: 12
    CON: 14
    INT: 8
    WIS: 12
    CHA: 16 (+1 enhancement)

FEATS: Weaponf Focus slashing, Tower shield prof. (Feat changes not a problem. I havethe cash and the dragonshards if needed. Plus Lockina)

I am looking at using Tower shields, Mithril Full Plate and the Sibyeris enhancement line. Also looking at Khopeshes. Took some Intimitate skill points (and UMD, my favourite) Hopefully this will please JRP, finally.

My question is: is it worth it to take a level of fighter? What would I gain out of it, outside the extra feat and the Tower shield profeincy feat? Or should I wait for the capstone announcement?

One or two fighter levels goes a long, long way to making a more versitile paladin combatant, given the feats and/or str gain for going 2

THe STR enhancement is level 2? Not level one? hmmmm.

first-tier stat enhancements are all level 2

19/1 and 18/2 aren't too different; there's only one or two level 19 pally enhancements, the extra feat is probably worth it (gives you a lot to work with, especially on a human)

I *think* I saw somewhere that Divine Sacrifice III is at 19 levels of Paladin.

Assuming the capstone isn't overpowered when announced, 2 levels of rogue is also a pretty decent choice. You would get evasion, rogue haste boost 1, and UMD and Intimidate up to 19 ranks at 16 (if you didn't treat int as a dump stat). You don't get the extra feat(s), but you would have 7 (8 for human) feats to flesh out the character.

Yeah, it seems pretty unlikely they'll give out a capstone that's better than evasion and UMD/intimidate maxed.

If you're going to take a level of fighter you should really do it at level 1 so that you get intimidate as a class skill.

    I would say stay pure.

But if you do choose to take a level of fighter,
take no more than one, that way you will not lose 4th level Spells

Also, for every level of fighter you take, that pushes your
Divine Redemption up a level befor you can get it.

Divine Redemption: Level Req. (Pal. 9)

And that DOES come in handy...

    Just something to think about...

That will be a pretty bad idea for many reason, but I'll go for the easiest one by saying there is no guarantee HA will be in module 9.

Who cares if it's in Mod 9 or not?

If you don't mind potentially re-rolling for it, go for what ever.

Can't see how the capstone will be better than evasion, 2 feats, +1 ac, and wisdom toward ac. No need to wait.

As mentioned above, 2 considerations not to forget when thinking about multiclassing pally.

The capstone, which we should know about fairly soon....and the holy avenger. It was mentioned the holy avenger will scale according to paladin level. I'd have to think that there'd be something at 20. How good that's gonna be is anyone's guess.
