Default Any offers on Wounding of Puncturing Rapier

It is a plain lvl 10 +1 WOP Rapier. I pulled it a few weeks ago and have been debating on what to do with it. For an offer I can't refuse I will part with it but if nothing catches my eye I will likley keep it and build a finesse ranger or something to use it.

You should be able to get 5-10 named items (bloodstones, firestorm greaves, planar girds, etc.) for it, plus a bunch of large ingrediants.

Just want to make sure you don't get screwed by someone offering you 20 million gold.

If you don't have any other w/p weapons, I would highly recommend trying to trade it for TWO w/p daggers or shortswords plus a bunch of other stuff...

That way, you're still a w/p stud (although not the uberest of the uber), plus you get all the other stuff...

Sold many W/P rapiers in my day(8 total). Most recently a +2 and a +4.. The +2 sold for a Combination of Plat and items totalling 13 Million PLAT, not gold mind you.. plat. The +4 sold for a +2 wop rapier, lol, 10 Large scales 15 other larges and 400k plat. Don't get ripped off, it's the best weapon in the game.

Thanks for the advice and concern Thrudh I thought I had an idea what it was worth but the offers so far (and so fast) have been impressive. Plus I am not fully convinced I should let it go I don't want to be regreting selling it in a month or two.

This is why Thelanis is great a lot of players watch out for other players and that is great it reminds me when someone tried to get my sunblade soon after I started oplayer and someone with good moral stepped up and made sure I did not get taken.

One other piece of advise, bloodstones can be farmed they fall in the same two chests every time. Firestorm greaves fall in the same chest every time. Large ingredients fall from the same chest every time. A w/p rapier is a random drop and you could play this game for the rest of your life and never even see one pulled.

What Im saying is if you have a need for a bloodstone, then farm it. You could pull it first time. If you have a will to farm anything then Im not sure you should ever trade such a unique weapon for a farmable item.

Well, I hit those chests over 200 times and never saw a bloodstone...

    Same with the greaves....

I did pull one planar gird, and one set of spectral gloves.... but I never farmed those locations, just got them when running the quests normally.

Farming for items is extremely boring... especially if you have multiple characters who need the items. I have six capped characters now... The idea of farming 3 bloodstones, 2 firestorm greaves, 3 sets of blue scales, 3 spectral gloves, etc. makes me want to throw up.

I have found one w/p rapier... and it was like hitting the jackpot... Instead of one character having an awesome weapon, I was able to outfit 5 of my characters with awesome equipment.

And again, if you don't already have any w/p weapons, trading a w/p rapier for two w/p daggers will actually let you do MORE stat damage, plus you get all the other stuff as well.

Now... 2 years down the road, when all your characters are fully outfitted, and you haven't seen another w/p rapier ever.... Will you regret it then? Maybe....

(<whisper> but what if Mod 9 nerfs stat damage??? I'd sell it today)

Important Note: There is one other option to farming for items, or trading your prized w/p rapier... Farming the Shroud is still fun for me (as opposed to farming the desert), and if you sell large ingrediants, you can easily make enough cash to buy the planar girds, spectral gloves, bloodstones, etc.

And that's what I've been doing... All my casters now have the Spell-storing ring, and all my melees have bloodstones, from selling large ingrediants, instead of farming the desert.

If you don't already have a lot of high-end stuff.... sell it...

    You won't regret it...

I pulled a w/p rapier too, and sold it for FOUR w/p daggers, plus a bunch of named items (firestorm greaves, spectral gloves, etc.). I later traded two of the w/p daggers for a LOT of large ingrediants (enough to make two dual-shard weapons)

Players who already have all the top items for their characters can afford to get w/p rapiers... Those of us who don't, get 10x the utility of the w/p rapier by trading it for 10 awesome items.

If you have zero w/p weapons, then just demand 2 w/p daggers as part of the trade package... Two w/p daggers is probably better than a w/p rapier plus a plain wounder, AND you'll get all the other stuff too.

    Default Interesting

Ya, for someone like me who has capped dozens of toons, but never pulled a WoP rapier, it has become my holy freaking grail.

But, the last time one went up for trade, the person trading it asked for 50+ larges and +2 tomes and I was like "f" that.

I haven't had one yet and it hasn't hurt me that much.

Too many people place so much value on those things and I think it's funny.

For the OP, ask whatever you want and you will prolly get it or more, especially from the guys who already have 10 of them and everything else in the game.

For those of us who never AH anything and give away +2 tomes to friends all day long, we will just have to resolve ourselves to using our dozen or so Shroud crafted items, you know, those weapons we crafted with the larges we didn't trade away.

To the OP, have you seen what those earthgrab rapiers are like that you can craft?

Ask for larges, get into the shroud and craft, craft, craft. You won't miss the stupid rapier at all.
