Simple question. Why are undead able to give me stat damage?
Simple question. Why are undead able to give me stat damage?
uh, because it's a supernatural ability?
you're gonna have to be a little more specific. warforged != immunity to everything
Not sure what "!=immunity to everything" means?
Been running some low/mid level quests lately and I just found it annoying to be stat drained on a race that (I thought) was supposed to be immune to this.
I have noticed this before on my other guy, but for some reason last night when running I was getting quite annoyed with con damage.
Was just curious as to how they are getting past my natural immunity to this. Not sure I like it, but supernatural ability would be the reasoning I guess.
Warforged:
Warforged are a race of sentient constructs built to battle in the Last War. The
warforged body is covered by plating, giving it an inherent AC bonus, but preventing
the wearing of other armor. Healing spells have their benefi ts reduced
by half when cast on warforged. Only the arcane Repair spells heal warforged
without any reduction. Warforged can upgrade their armor with the Adamantine
Body and Mithral Body feats. Warforged can also gain additional abilities
and customize their appearance by using docents.
Ability Adjustments: +2 Con, -2 Wis, -2 Cha
Special Abilities: Immune to sleep, energy drain, nausea, exhaustion, poison,
disease and paralysis; healed with Repair spells; resistant to Heal spells; +2
AC bonus; 5% arcane spell failure chance; cannot wear armor; 25% chance to
negate critical hits and sneak attacks
Where exactly does it say WF are immune to Stat Damage?
Being immune to Disease and Poison, and Exhaustion negates many types of Stat damage, but nowhere that I've ever seen claims they are immune to ALL TYPES of stat damage.
Probably a misunderstanding on my part. I always equated stat damage with energy drain. Now that I think about it, energy drain would be level drain correct?
I could have swore that the WF in the vons were immune to my stat damage weapons....mmmm....I'll have to check that again, but that is neither here nor there.
Impaqt is correct.
Also, when you said you were running low to mid level quests against Undead
Can you give us a little heads up on which quests you were in?
Some types of Undead (particularly when hit some of the higher range mid level quests; up into lower range of the higher level quests)
Do have special abilities that let them BYPASS some types of natural abilities.
In fact there are encounters in some Quests that can Bypass a Paladins immunity to Disease!
(Although most of these are in the Necropolis area...)
An important tip to remember, that applies in life as does in the game...

Energy Drain is primarily Negative Levels, there may be some FOrm of stat damge that is classified as "Energy Drain: as well I suppose....
You can Weaken, Wound, or Maladriot the WF in Von 3-4 just fine... AS long as you get past there DR.

i find it funnier that "rotting flesh" works on WF
stupid doomsphere in the garden toss that around for 10+ con damage every shot =_=;;;
PS: Greensteel RUINED the game! and you all know it!
less buffing, more nerfing!!!
to make it easier for those of you that wants to avoid me in game, all my characters are in "Bladesworn Mercenaries"
Hmmmm.... plants have flesh as well, and Warforged are made of Living Wood. Flesh also means your physical core as opposed to your spiritual or mental self, also something Warforged have.
My friend and I have confirmed that Warforged(or anyone with 100% Fortification and DR) can be immune to Wounding(and such) if you can not bypass their DR but Puncturing works just fine in the face of DR and 100% Fortification. My friend did 0 damage to my WF but 4 Con damage from his Critical Hit with his Puncturing Rapier and his Wounding Dagger was unable to damage me when I Blocked for full DR.
