for that many larges you could almost make a greater disruption rapier (pos pos pos) in the shroud that would make this rapier look like a toothpick.

I left the game for ~7 months and when I left a rapier like this would have gone for 50k plat and not a single large. Also, puncturing rapiers (not wp) were vendor trash. Now people sell them on the ah for like 100k plat.

*** happened while I was gone? People say tempest, but tempest was around 6 months before I left. I think people maybe caught on that punturing rapiers are as good w/p when 90% of the mobs have DR you aren't Bypassing making the wounding part meaningless.

yup i use to be able to get a puncturing rapier for 50k max now i am happy i got plenty of them to spare for my toons who use rapiers cuz i won't buy them for those stupid prices

I have over a hundred bones, to me they're worthless... to others , they're only semi-worthless. lol You can't make a greater distruption rapier with 100 bones

You are mistaken. You must do physical damage to bypass damage reduction and apply wounding. There are very few buffs/items that help you do this, but they include:

Weapon damage
weapon "plus"
strength bonus
Feat damage bonuses (weapon spec, power attack)
Enhancement damage bonuses (Racial rapier/axe bonuses, maybe fighter damage soon, damage boosts)
Sneak attack damage (Both from rogue levels, halfling racial enhancements, and backstabbing items)
diving favor
paladin smiting bonus
etc.

Effects such as flaming and force burst are magical effects that do not count towards physical damage, so they do NOT count as bypassing DR for wounding purposes. In fact, with only one exception that I can think of, anything that shows up as a +X after your first damage number won't count for bypassing DR. THe one exception is sneak attack damage. You could have a wounder of pure good with the force crit enhancement on it and do 0 + 2 + 1 (phys + good + force), but since your physical did not bypass the DR of the monster, you won't get wounding to go off.

force damage added to a weapon doesnt count towards bypassing dr for the purposes of whether wounding proc. you are wrong
