If a spellcaster isn't already virtually a God by level 20, he probably won't get much closer over the course of 6 levels.

Sure epic spells are silly overpowered, but you don't need them to attain that level of brokenness.

I don't agree there. Being able to auto-quicken all of your spells (two 9th lvl spells each round), craft epic level spells, metamagic spells to over 9th level... The jump in power is extreme.

Maybe that's why DDO's casting is so broken...we can already do 2 of the above.
