Default How to twink a sorcerer?

Quick background: I don't play alts. In most games, I tend to play one character (rogues, usually) exclusively. In DDO, I have a 16 rogue who I play 99% of the time so, as you would imagine, he's quite wealthy. I've started a few alts and none make it passed level 4. Except one...my drow sorc, who is almost level 6.

With millions of gold at my disposal, how can I best twink out this sorc since it looks like I'll be playing him a bit. Right now, he's just using gear he's picked up. His best item is a Robe of Winter he got from SC.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

The only types of twink gear a sorc might need would be a Potency item and items that increase spell points (though the Crimson Gemstone works fine for a while).

For now, just find the best potency and spellpoint items you can. You'll also probably want to find a good Fire Lore item once you get access to Firewall. You can usually find some bracers that have a couple of Spell Focuses on them, so pick two schools you use a lot. Other than that, you probably just want anything that will increase your HP, including Con items and False Life items.

as others have said sorcs are the class that needs the least twinking. It doesnt hurt to get a min lvl 7 moderate fort item though, as well as the best false life item you can (think false life for 10hp is lvl 5, and improved is lvl 9).

Oh and if you dumped str to 8, get a +1 str tome. It will help for the quests where every chest has a set of fullplate in it.

1- SP to cast spells (Power items) + (Cha)
2- HP to stay alive (Con) + (Fase Life)
3- Stuff to make your spell more potent (Potency) + (Spell Pen) + (Cha) + (focus) + (lore)
4- Survive the aggro (fortification) + (fearsome)
5- Usual other stuff (poison immmunity, disease immunity, feather fall...)
6- Fluff (Str item to prevent beeing incap by a ray, for exemple, spot goggles to see targets that are stealthed)

At your level, dual wielding is the way to go: Potency item in one hand, and spell penetration in the other, with a fire lore item to swap out.

    What they said.

Spell point items, the best your level can use. Potency items too.

Also make sure you have the best lore items you can use, depending on your specialty. If you are fire specced, get inferno or greater inferno and lore items, they will boost your crit chance and your damage too.

Most of these items are weapons, so obviously it is difficult to carry a fire lore dagger, an inferno scepter, and a potency club, but some items can be found as clothing. If you have the plat, may be worthwhile to invest in some of those so you can have all the bells and whistles equipped all the time.

Also, some things stack and some things don't, but it does save time if you can have most things you use equipped all the time, do you aren't switching items all the time.

    Default Twink da Sorcy

Look for RR CHA bonus items - like +5 CHA at lvl 9 instead of 11. I actually have a Charismatic Helm that is NOT RR, but I think those are really rare.

Also, Resist items, etc that you can wear 'early' assuming you put points into UMD...

I would also shop for nice rings. I have a Disease Immunity of Greater False Life as well as an UWA of Protection +5 that I looted, but I have seen many nice rings on the AH - and as you seem to have lots of plat that would be a nice place to spend it. Of course you will need to start with items he can wear now, and then have upgrades ready as he levels.

get the best potency item available for your spell levels/the best single-element gaining spell for your fw the second you get it (sup comb 4 item = get it get it get it), resist items, con/cha items, and useful robes: fearsome, then fearsome of spearblock (archers), then heavy fort, and at level 10 you can turn in 20 elf relics for the excellent elfcrafted robe.

lore items rock too - my sorc played from 8 to 11 with a sup comb 4/superior fire lore item set, since you cast almost no offensive spells besides firewall in that range.

    a popx is also nice

Prepare greater potency/superior potency at every even lv (e.g sup pot 3 and great pot 4 at lv 8)
    Sup lore item
    PopX
A fearsome robe (and swap to elven crafted one at lv 11, blue robe at lv 14)
    Some deathblock robe to swap
RR gfl belt usage at lv 9
bracer with different focus of magic school

Possbily a +2 int tome at lv 1 if you want to start int at even....

Well...soccy really need only a few gears even until end game...., a blue robe/boot of inno/some common raid gears(hound ring, vod glove/bracer)..you are done....
