Add Zeal to Cleric Spell List

Zeal is not a cleric spell, it's a paladin spell. Battle clerics already have a bone, a lot more mana then pallies, a lot more healing power, the ability to cast offensive spells like blade barrier and comet fall - you already have several bones, no need to add more.

Actually it is neither in PnP there is no such spell. It is simply the choice of the Devs on who can cast it and who cannot.

Please do not confuse heavy melee focused battle clerics (who cannot cast blade barrier and commet fall because there wisdom is too low and they used all their feats on TWF (the only effective DPS combat style)

It seems quite foolish to me to make a battle cleric unable to cast Heal, though I suppose there must be some reason or another.

Why can't you cast heal? There is a big difference between having enough wisdom to cast spells and actually landing DC based spells.

Never fear even with buffing battle clerics with some additional spells we will still be hated by all!

Because it requires the same Wisdom as Blade Barrier, and you literally said "clerics(who cannot cast blade barrier and commet fall because there wisdom is too low)".

You specifically said that the wisdom score prevented them from casting it or made them incapable of casting it, you failed to mention spell DCs in your comment.

Wow that would be really stupid...so stupid that I didn't think I needed to spell out the difference.

Someone with 20 wisdom isn't rocking the cometfall. If you take all combat feats and have low DC you cannot do much with blade barrier either. Does that help you out any?

Hate all you want, if melee battle clerics are gimp then you just proved my point, they should add more buff spells like my version of helping hand.

btw technically of course you CAN caste it, but with no feats to spend on buffing it and low wisdom for save DC it won't be any good.

Not everyone finds exploiting poor AI and training mobs through a blade barrier enjoyable. It is only a matter of time and better programming when you won't be so keen on that strategy.

BARE minimun starting Wisdome is 6 for a WF cleric we all agree here OK
+2 Tome dirt commen now [note a +1 tome &+3 ap &+6 item = 16 at lvl13 as well.]
+2 Celeric AP's & +6 wis item (needs level 13)
OR +3 cleric AP's and +5 item (only needs level 11 or heal/BB/CF level)
=16 wis enough for all thouse spells to be case......

Thats was starting with 6 wisdome FFS, HOW can a cleric not POSSIBLE have 16 wis it's it's it's Inconcevable.....

I've said 5 times already if you actually read the thread they CAN cast it but not well. If you start with 10 wisdom and maybe hit 20 you have terrible DC so everything makes their saves. If you go with TWF (the only way to have even competitive melee DPS) then you cannot take maximize so you are left with very weak blade barriers.

Yeah which is why I thought what I said was easiliy understood

It literally is impossible as you pointed out to not be able to cast 6th level spells. My current TWF battle cleric started with 10 wisdom which only requires +3 enhancements and a +6 item not even a tome.

note though a 10 staring wis coudl still have a cleric that does NOT bump wis at +3+3+6= 22 wis sure stuff will save more BUT still takes half damage imo not imposible not optimal but standign fightign inside a BB woudl add soem damage...

Not to be used against stuff with evasion of course....

Yeah the problem with blade barrier and melee is they don't combine all that well (unlike Firewall). My experience is you have to move the mobs in and out of the thing they don't take continual damage.

For melee arcanes that works really well with firewall or acid fog adding to your melee DPS a bit.

btw all things said add mroe cleric spells to cleric not palyl or rnager spells imo...

Clerics in PnP only have most of the most broken melle buffs any way why would you want second rate ones Well sicne they changed animal groth on shapchanged druids that is
