Nalinor Shadowson:

My Human Rogue and main. He was a brand new incarnation for this game. I used an older NWN character name for my forum name - Snip the Shadow - which for RP purposes in this mythos I made as Nalinor's father back in Sharn. The two don't get along very well. Nalinor is the take-from-the-rich-give-to-the-poor variety of rogue where Snip is just an arrogant killer. Rogue/Assassin/Shadowdancer to be specific. The first name Nalinor just rolls off the tongue nicely, and the Shadowson surname is like something from RL. You have Johnson or Smithson as in a Smith's Son...so seeing as how he is the son of Snip the Shadow...Shadowson.

Cargonar Bloodyknuckles:

My Dwarven Fighter. I'm still to this day working on his bio and backstory. I just liked the sound of it for a dwarven fighter. Sounds very tough and out of control.

Onyxarian Azure:

My first (failed) attempt at a Human Wizard. The name sounded great at the time to my ears. I still like the first name, but I'm not so into the last anymore. I just made it up like the two above.

Zanen Kel:

My first Drow. A Ranger/Fighter. I wanted something that started with the letter 'Z' and I wanted it to be simple and easy to say.

Zanshin:

My Drow Monk experiment and brother to Zanen. The name Zanen I made up, but the word Zanshin I learned training at my Dojo in RL. It's Japanese. For a martial artist it means that moment after you've just ended a technique or thrown an opponent where you gather everything into a calm place and slow things down and gather yourself right at the end. It's like the chrystal pure moment at completion.

Beltakorr Narr:

My Human Barbarian. Sounded like a strong name for a strong character class, and I like being called Belt for short when I play him.

Fleabite:

My Halfling Wizard. He looks like a tiny little flea of a thing, so I named him Fleabite. I also like the idea of a character with great power having such a deceiving name.

Missadventur Soth- The last name comes from my favorite character The Lord Soth.....The first name was just a joke on the misadventure kills given in quest groups...this is my oldest toon, who was a reroll of my first ranger Tannniss, which is also another favorite character of mine from Dragonlance.....rolled him when Drow was first available....

Binge Soth- A poke in the ribs to an old guildie from Hellfire named Purge...last seen runnin with the IFV...dont see him around much anymore tho....

Sumthin Soth- You were killed by.....Origionaly named CherryPoppins but I guess someone complained cuz a Dev interrupted a STK elite run when I was lvl4 and gave me about 45 seconds to come up with a new name on the spot....but alas I dig the new moniker...

Freebird Soth- could you honestly think of a better name than this for a bard?.....

Necranomicon Soth- The Book of the Dead from the movie Army of Darkness....

Blanket Soth- The real life name of Michael Jackson's son which I find to be deliciously pathetic....

Widestance Politics- I live in Idaho and our Senator was busted last year getting frisky in another states airport with an undercover cop....when asked why his foot was encroaching on the foot of the person in the next stall, his reply was "When using the restroom, I have a wide stance"......also deliciously pathetic.....

Incinirate - first character, started as a proper in incinErate but with the server merge, had to modify. Always liked naming my characters after active (and usually violent) verbs.

Scracher - Scrach was taken.

Pulverize - nuff said.

Saave - Save was taken (and yes, the verb is not that violent, but the way he is going to save you is usually at least highly unplesant to somone )

Deathtouched - Drow necromancy specilaised sorceress. Drow are secretive about their names in Eberron lore, so she got the nickname from her necromancy studies.

Cleidh Mor - Celtic, pronounced Clay, not as he often is called Clyde. Its the word that Claymore comes from - originally a 2HF bardbarian concept, now a CC specialised haggle master.

Jeidan Falstaff - Jeidan is a very, very long time character I've played in tabletop and various MMOs. Falstaff is from Henry IV by Shakespeare.

Leifdal d'Laranak - Laranak is a Mror Hold name from Eberron lore and Leifdal I like as a cool dwarfish type name I made up.

Lucretia d'Phiarlan - master assassin and rogue extraordinaire. Also another very long time character from P&P and CoX. House Phiralan because of her Dragonmarks and for flavour.

Sildorn Silverhead - Dwarf, originally a cleric but to be rerolled either as a barbarian or a funky battle cleric build. Another good made up dwarfy type name and a surname to fit his look.

Melesande - Cleric. Nice name, thought it fit an elf lassie quite well.

Onager - big hulking Warforged. Onager is also a large seige weapon and it means donkey, or mule, which is what he is.

Sarcos - My first high level PNP toon, a level 16 cleric under kelemvor(forgotten realms god of the dead)though this version is a necro speced sorc.

Sarkos, sarco, sarcose, sarrisa, etc, all forms of the root.

Splice - Its an electrical term for merging wires, a wf wiz
Eclips - Splice jumbled, a wf sorc

Crunk - Lil' John yo!
Of the mountain(surname) - from a george carlin routine in which he exclaims f*** of the mountain!

Points DeWay- Elven Rogue deliberately designed with the most angular features possible including a pair of 'pointy' ears and nose. Was named after a Vulcan Star Trek RPG character. DeWay was my 'pun'ishing humor creeping in. I have a list of titles for short stories involving Points, 'Vanishing Points', 'Hit Points', 'Making Points', etc.

Ottow Maddok- Dex build fighter meant to be rapid fire with a repeating crossbow.

Sumdum Goy-Dwarven strength build monk. Thank you Berry Gordon's Last Dragon. He was the automated fortune cookie machine.

Gerbill-Halfling Rogue. Steers clear of Richard Gere.

Eeyoor-my mule character.

All other toons shall remain nameless to protect their innocense.

Talonkage Moonshadow: My first char. I wanted Talon Moonshadow, a name I had come up with for a D&D char, and had been using in some other games. But not understanding that DDO only used first names, and not knowing I could not go back and change it....well...Talonkage was the first name that the game would allow.
Kage means "shadow" in Japanese.

Blacksilk Knightgown: Blacksilk was am attempt at a "spider" name for a drow char. Knightgown was a joke, but also a reference to a female knight.

Angelofmercy: Cleric....what more can I saY? I like the name Angel.

Tsunamikhan: Tsunami was taken. Khan like Ghengis Khan.

Talonkhan. I have lots of Khan names.

Czarkhan.

Blacktiger. Just sounds cool.

Jadephantom. Clr/Mnk Jade is a chinese reference, cool for a monk IMO. She's a dragon marked elf....Invisible and stealthy...seemed cool.

Kagemaru: Japanese name. A cartoon char Ninja and a char from some other video game I think. Was the name of my first cat in Japan.

Valkk Armorr. DC Comics Legion of Super Heroes Karate Kid's real name is Val Armorr. He was often called "KK" for short. Val eas taken, thus Val"kk", Valkk.

Dougin ReddHammer: 8 Ranger this was my first toon, i just recently rerolled him. He is one of the mortal embodiment of Reorx. been known to drink and impart on wild bets...so you think you can out drink a Dwarf....Wanna bet?

Gofan FireForge: this is the one toon that is a made up character from DL. though i have been working on a story to go along with him. Gofan is elvish for reorx

rannoch the black: 16 wiz Rannoch was the wizard who through himself off the top of the tower of high sorcery in Palanthas cursing it as he died so the KingPriest couldnt get to the secrets inside.

Kelwynn Ogrebane: 6 cleric Kelwynn was once a grandmaster on the Knights of solomnia. He was famous for his part in the Ogre wars.

My first character, from almost 3 years ago, was named Shyver do to a fear of being cold so he always insisted on burninng things to stoke his innerfire to stay warm.

My one and only character that was named based on a backstory. Shortly after joining Attacks the Darkness everyone shortened the name and just called me Shyv. It stuck, and since I hate not knowing who's alts are who's I went to the K.I.S.S School of Naming and the following characters were born.

Okay, I'm from Sarlona, but have to join this one...

Opossum Lazarus - my first permanent character after a couple of test runs and deletions, an elven rogue and splash of sorc. I found the Diehard feat to be quite handy when I was soloing up through the Harbor, and the name fits. Always getting knocked down, but getting up again. However, higher-level mobs tend to kick me when I'm down, so Diehard doesn't help so much anymore.

Sixtyfive Musclecar - Warforged Paladin. What you'd get if House Deneith made automobiles instead of weapons. He comes with a cherry-red metallic flake paint job and posi-traction. This is the car/cycle freak in me.

Eggnoggin Pianofingers - Dwarf Wizard. The black sheep of a dwarf family who was born with above average intelligence and a very slight build. Perhaps the illegitimate son of the Elven milkman? He didn't really care for construction, preferring to read books instead. His long thin fingers and manual dexterity lend themselves well to the practice of the arcane arts.

Soulmauler - Warforged Wizard. A Dedicated Teams character whom my intention is to groom as a necromancer. He plots his revenge against all evil wizards in retaliation for the loss of his human body.

Now for the deleted characters...

Tremblyfingers McGee - a halfling rogue I rolled for a Dedicated Teams group. Known for suffering from Delerium Tremens due to too much drink. Bad malady for a rogue!

Sebei Uguchi - trial basis Warforged Monk. Named after the hero in the movie Twilight Samurai.

Yie Ar - trial basis Halfling Monk. For old-time video arcade freaks, this needs no explanation. For the rest of you, this was a fun 2-d scrolling martial arts game in the style of Mario Brothers, that pitted the hero against several different styles of opponents and puzzles.

Orrobahk - male WF Sorc. Holding the name for my Half-Orc character-to-be.

Projekt Darkwave - male WF Wizard. Named for a music flyer that had shown up in the mail that day, and sounded cool.

Yardstik Halfstep - male Halfling Barb/Ftr. A yard tall, and takes little steps.

Pokinstik Stabsya - male Halfling Rogue. Amusement.

Chukky - male Dwarf Cleric. More amusement.

Brux Dul'Caina: Name of another PNP character I had, also the name of my main in SWG.

Quikksilver: Just liked the name for a WF but the correct spelling was taken.

Deriaz Ironfist - Warforged Fighter. The only really interesting one; when someone asked him what his name was, he stuttered out random letters, trying to remember what his name was (he couldn't.). The other person thought he was saying "Deriaz", so they called him it, and it stuck. As for the Ironfist, he wasn't aware he was made out of Adamantine, but he knew it was a metal and a fist. Iron Fist. :P

Ragyr Ironfist - Warforged Bard. Kind of known for a quick fuse. "Rage" = Ragyr, though he's never been a Barbarian. Goes by other aliases as well.

(My others aren't as creative. Lol.)

Blindshot - Warforged Ranger. Ranger that served in the Last War, and led a well-trained troop in info gathering and stealth. Good with numbers and great with a bow, yet is blind.

Voulge - Warforged Rogue. A fidgety little Warforged that's good with a voulge. Plus, he likes that word. Heh. Name doesn't match his bravery, since he's so afraid of people, some might say he's afraid of his own shadow.

Twoofthree - Warforged Wizard. Second of three Warforged that look identical. . . What? It doesn't get any more blunt than that. :P

Convalesce - Warforged Cleric. "to recover health and strength after illness; make progress toward recovery of health." A Warforged who follows Blades, yet is ashamed of it, because he doesn't understand why fleshlings are so bad. Plus, he finds them easier to fix than metal.

Those are my only notable ones. I've got a few others, but they don't get played as often.

was a toon shared by three people, the name derived from the 3 people sharing the account and playing him. the names taken to make Joamid were JOhn jAMes and davID. the surname was derived from the idea that he is a barbarian therefore a tank and part of someones last name. sharing an account with 3 people didnt last to long lol

rocker chick:
back when mod 3 first came out so did a new pvp video on youtube by magnis arcanis, it was either a wizards or sorc and he was pwning everyone in pvp, this made me determined to make a wizard i also wanted to get my little siter to try ddo so i let her make my the toon since i just unlocked drow n my sis said she wld only play as a drow (which wld make a good wiz) i had her make rocker (i helped out w/ stats though) my sis decided at lvl 2 it was boring n she didnt have any cool spells so i lvled rocker up determined to one day nuke stuff in pvp and get my sis excited bout her toon. i ended up just playing rocker n not letting my sis play ddo :P
