Default Dex Tempest or Str Twf Kensai

I know Tempest 2,3 have not been unpacked yet..But what would pack more punch endgame?

a Light weapon spec Tempest (with dex higher then str 18/16)
or a Str martial Twf Kensai (both dex and str 16 base)

lets compare using a shortsword Tempest and Longsword Twf Kensai.

    FIGHT!!
I'm here because your not WISHING HARD ENOUGH!!

Kensai would be more because of damage adders and level 18 crit range.

But against favored enemies a temptest (ie ranger) would be getting a +8-+10 base damage on ever hit, so favored enemies would be better as a ranger.

This thread probably should be in general discussion not development as well....

My brother just made a rather observant observation, being observantly observant regarding the observation of numbercrunching.

FAvored bonuses are +8-12 ATM at level 20 they will be +10-14 assumign no new enhenbcments.

A STR tempest wins for SURE with the current tempest against favoreds, a dex tempest wou;d be close it woudl start to depend on lenght of fight as well, as fighter haste bost is the same as tempest fro 2.5 mins, 15% up 66% of the time x5 bosts = average 10% for 2.5 mins.

Given most of the mobs anyone cares about can be covered off by favored enemies - str based tempest for the win.
Thanks for the long time forum user purge of Aug '10 (Sarcasm for those who don't get it)

On mobs that you can crit on, I like the Kensai who will be doing so 25% of the time with additional seeker bonus. For any kind of stat damage or vorp I like the tempest....but as more blanket immunities get handed out "Con" kill will be the next on the chopping block. Then again so could scoring a crit if fortification becomes the norm.
