Solo'd Entered The MoM

First off, disclosure-

I know most of you may want evidence in the form of screenshots, but I will not tell you how to finish the MoM, that is the keynote in this thread because I have found there are a few different tactics you can use to make the whole experience more attune to how you decide to play around in the MoM, plus I also tend to not wear armor when soloing this quest as I find it restricting and noone and their mother would like to see any of my characters doing this deed naked...although I guess I could have worn a robe but hey call me a naturalist, although some may take the leather approach. Anyways this is the best take I can give those who wish a sort of guide to entering the MoM, and what to expect.

In soloing the MoM, I would suggest it is best to know the groundwork on how to get to the MoM so you can actually do the MoM. Noone tells you 'hey I want you to go out and do MoM and will offer a reward afterwards'. It doesn't work that way, you have no idea where the MoM is to begin with. I mean how are you supposed to enter the MoM if you can't figure out a locaction?? So I am going to do most of the dirty work for you here, as I have found finding the MoM is the hardest part of your mission.

Go to the Ruins of Gianthold, and in the lowermost Southwest corner of it you will find the MoM, but beware, there are some baddies who do not want you to get to the MoM, and will stop at nothing to prevent you from entering the MoM. But once you have found the MoM, enter the MoM ASAP as it provides a safe haven against those that may have chased you.

Once inside, you will be greeted by a Giant who seemed to have gotten stuck in the MoM. Things get weirder after that, and all else I can tell you is that if you don't hit the right switches the MoM can become a very unenjoyable experience for you. Eventually though you will get it right and finish the MoM and feel a sensation of 'YES I DID IT', smoke a cigarette afterwards if you smoke, or just sit back and relax and relish in your conquest. How you end it is entirely up to you.

Some people enjoy the Speed run with the MoM, while others like to it slow and easy when they are in the MoM, whatever floats your boat IMHO, I enjoy doing the MoM all sorts of different ways myself. Anyways, I would like to take a moment to thank those involved in hooking us up with the MoM, I'm sure it wasn't easy, but I thank you and look forward to some new quests kind of incorporating what I experienced in the MoM.

I was present when this was discussed and the MoM that he solo'd was definatly a raid group type of MoM. Grow up and try not to post lies here!!

BTW, on a curious note....were you on the MoM or did someone have to open it for you? In other words, was it your MoM you solo'd or someone elses?

Ok, I will give you a kind of different more advanced way of how I do it. First off you have to have someone invite you...so technically, yeah it is their MoM. Now I'm not going to give any of my contacts away but the best people to look up for this are members of any 'LITTLE' guild.

Now I gave out the location earlier, but what I like to do is have myself and my compadre head out to see Captain Two Stone...it's kind of an initial check to make sure I am all there and prepared...Then we are off to see Tarmor Stonehoof to make sure we get a little peep at what we may expect to see before entering MoM...I then ask my compadre if he/she will be so kindly as to leave because at this point I am off to see Lord Jax to make sure I'm properly warmed up...Finally I see Clan-Chief Ogh and that is when my pre MoM beatdown is finished. At this point I hit the tavern, refresh myself and head to enter the MoM.

Try it if you got the skills, I tend to stick around in MoM alot longer when I do it this way for some odd reason.

At this point the vets know the quest is over and give their toon a rest, but the noob apologizes and thinks it is best to pull back, regroup and let the quest reset as they want a chance to run MoM again for another chance at the chest.

When referring to the pre-MoM beatdown, beat'em like they owe you money. Get your aggression out so you can go into MoM with a clear head and know the gameplan. Noobs will want to do the slash and dash (which will only set off all the traps that MoM has, thus terminating the quest and upon hitting the 'RELEASE' button, you find yourself drinking some bartenders concoction in the local tavern). Vets will keep to the gameplan and every ONCE in awhile try a slightly different route, not to get a faster complete time to post on the 'Accomplishments' forum, but to see if it makes the quest more enjoyable.

The whole 'group' mentality thing can be an option, but let's face it - when it comes to this quest, soloing is the only way to truly get xp. This is why - when you put up your LFM for a MoM group and state your preferences in the byline, such as 'all naked run at MoM females only!!!' you will certainly get a few other open minded individuals and you will run to the quest, party in tow and once everyone has entered and you ask, 'Is everyone in MoM?' Your ears will hear what you cannot see - this 'naked' run is really a bunch of dudes PLAYING chicks!!! At this point, you will most certainly NOT want to post your 'accomplishment' with any screenshots, let alone FRAPS for the whole world to see. Although you will have a story about a 'grouping' you once had, and not the cool kind...

Actually ... That is what the hirelings are for. Always a bonus to go grab a female Hireling to give you a hand with MoM. They can help show you those secret switches as well.
