"Non-human?" That is, like, way oblique, dude. I just don't get it.

Seemed pretty human to me. Mebbe not very humane, but that comes with the territory.

Humans didn't make it to the top of the food chain to be vegetarian.

There's room on this Earth for all God's creatures....right next to the 'taters and gravy!

Maybe it's just me, but vegans always look.... hungry.
Did you hear about the old vegan lady that fed her pets a vegetarian diet, too? She passed on in her sleep one night, but they didn't find her body for a few days. When they did, poor little coco the pomeranian was a corpse, but the cats were sleek and healthy.

It's not meat per se that is the problem. It's all the "nasty stuff" that goes into commercially packaged meat. I'm pretty sure I read that Ted Nugent said that when he goes to a restaurant, unless he can be assured that the meat is hormone-, anti-biotic- and "other nasty stuff"-free, he will order vegetarian.

I do the same thing. I'm fortunate that I have access to local organic meats and produce, though. It really does make a difference.

I like things like elk, quail and duck, especially quail. There's an Iraqi restaurant near me where they make a really good quail dish. And goose is the best choice for holiday feasting. It's got the texture of roast beef for beef lovers, but it has better flavor, as far as I'm concerned.

There's a German restaurant here that has a "hunter's banquet" every February. Their menu features elk, bear, venison, that sort of thing. I hit it every year. Goose is good, quail is too. I like it

All right, we have totally hijacked this thread.

At this Iraqi restaurant, the quail is grilled with some kind of mildly spicy sauce, then they serve it with raw onions, parsley, hummus and warm pit bread (and sliced beets, but I let my mother eat those). It takes 3 or 4 quail to make a meal, depending on how much of the other stuff is consumed.

I'd love to eat there. I really like that kind of food. Even the beets.
