Default Can't find a quarterstaff thread?

I have read threads, including Dev comments, about the exact mechanics of quarterstaffs in DDO. However, I could not find any. I thought the quarterstaff was considered a THW. There is often debate regarding th PnP rules, but that was cleared up and quarterstaffs are THW. Do I have that right? They then produce THW additional STR damage. Is there an advantage for a Monk, because it is a "special monk weapon", like extra attacks and/or speed. I the spirit of Festivult, would care to help me out?

Quarterstaves are two-handed, meaning they get 1.5x strength damage and 2x Power Attack damage, as a greatsword does.

They are special monk weapons, which means monks holding them don't suffer the penalties of reduced BAB, lost Ki, and inability to use any Ki power that happens when they're uncentered.

A monk should generally prefer handwraps, however, especially after you learn some TWF.

Whilst there is no specific advantage in terms of attack speed for Monks, you can play a rogue and purchase the Way of the Acrobat enhancement line. I don't specifically remember the exact speed increase percentages, but I only have Way of the Acro I on my rogue thus far, and I can definitely tell a difference when she uses a quarterstaff as opposed to a rapier.
