    Smile Multiclassing NOOB Question

Hi i'm in the process of building my Dwarven, Barb-Rngr, or Barb-A-Vasion. In order to multiclass, is it necessary to fufill all levels of class first? Then complete the other levels? I'm not sure if I can go back and forth between classes now? Please advise. Thanks

No. You can mix and match to your hearts desire. To a maximum of 3 classes.

Thanks, there is newer verbiage from the trainers that suggest that once you leave your path you can't come back. And my character is not on a "path", so I wasn't sure. Thanks again!

Seems like youn already received your answer but I wanted to clarify what a path was:

The "path" is a new option created with Mod 8 to essentially auto-level a pure class build along certain lines (such as a nuking sorc or a dual weilding ranger) instead of choosing skills and feats at level up. The only choice you get is the enhancements. Each time someone levels up a character on a path the trainer asks them if they wish to continue the path or customize their character. Once you customize a character on a path, you can no longer auto-level that character.

Not sure why characters not on a path are getting the message (I dont really look at the level up dialogue so dont know if everyone gets it).

Also keep in mind that the TWF feats are free for Rangers, and max out at level 11.
Coincidentally, level 11 and/or 12 Ranger also maxes out the Barkskin spell (at +5 AC) and the Protection from Energy spell.
12 Ranger looks as though it will also see Tempest II.

Not to sway you or anything, but going a few more levels in Ranger might not be a bad thing

However, if you wanted a 2H Barbarian and just wanted Ranger for Evasion, I'd strongly consider going Rogue instead.
    Just my 2cp.

i agree a 9 level splash into a class just for evasion seems a tad much considering you could go 2 rogue 7 ftr 7 barb and get umd as a class skill and 4 free feats from ftr plus 2 enhancment points into str which would make up for the 1 les bab from 2 rogue levels.

hey there. if you are doing barbarian and ranger you can indeed switch freely between the two.

If you're going for evasion, 9 ranger/7 barbarian has been done before, i've seen it rather successful.

I personally like the idea of a 1fighter/2rogue/13barbarian look. seen alot of good dwarves with builds around that.

    Question

Great thanks, I am in fact building a 9/7 or 9/11 Rngr Barb. I weighed the Bark/Self-heal/Tempest against the Rogue positives. Maybe I didn't weigh them correctly but it seemed like a decent build.

Be careful! Check the dev tracker and read about the upcoming prestige enhancements. Level 6, 12, and 18 are sweet spots for a lot of classes. You may really regret adding 3 levels of something else, or going 9/11 of something. Barb crit rage is changing drastically, so definitely read up.

Being unique is always part of the fun, so do what makes you happy...just dont want you to make a decision on levels without knowing the downstream implications.

    Enjoy!

Great advice coming in here. I guess I'll try and build up one of each build and see what I like best. Does anyone know if there is a Player Planner out there like the shroud loot planner? That would be extremely helpful.
