Default Message to the Insane Lowbie Crucible Crew

DISCLAIMER: This is, in no way, an *accomplishment* post although it was fun to get past a quest on elite 6 levels above most of your party. I realize people do that quite a bit with this quest in particular. The point of the post is to point out that good people do exist in DDO and sometimes you can have fun in seemingly the worst of circumstances. The bruises go away but the memories last forever

    So....

Just wanted to say to say a hearty THANKS to the lowbie 9-11 party that ground out Crucible Elite last night for 30k XP first time bonus (cleric-free and mostly levels 9 - 10). I won't go into all the details except to say we had a couple technical difficulties with the non-ideal party setup and suffered what seemed like several thousand deaths Oh yeah, Elite traps SUCK

The point is, everyone kept a great sense of humor throughout and used the best of their ability / resources toward the goal of completing the quest. It wasn't pretty but we all got the full XP bonus we deserved after that show of persistence.

    The individual kudos...

Torchier - for keeping your cool and burning up your stack of raise scrolls...and for showing us how to Enervate stuff to death with scrolls when you have no SP left

Gumchant - for keeping a far-less-than-desirable main *tank* standing with (mostly) CSW wands...you must have gone through a couple dozen at least ..oh and raising Torchier and others too

Bushwick - where do I start? the quest is dead without Bushwick. he joined after someone-who-shall-not-be-named acquired the horn of agility and promptly died at the END of the tunnel Bushwick only died 4 or 5 times before successfully grabbing the horn We narrowed down the trap DCs to something higher than 42...not automatic for 99% of the server and definitely not for levels 9-11. Traps were doing 200+ damage on a failed save.

Sheshana - for sticking with the group and staying cool throughout

Invisibolt - for keeping your cool and continuing to press tactics and CC in a zerg-minded group

Crankh - he didn't do much

The group that eventually completed was two 11th and the rest 9th and 10th levels. It was definitely a challenge and I'll probably remember that run for a very long time. I encourage everyone in this game to challenge yourselves from time to time. It's...refreshing after the pain subsides

ROFL, oh man I don't think I can ever forget that run. It felt sooo dang good to finish it too. Like we had just come through the worst battle of our lifes with all the odds stacked against us. lol A big thank you to all you guys who stuck it out, I know we all had a lot of fun.

lol, word up man. One of the best quest experiences EVER. I can't remember the last time a quest was challenging to me... I forgot how much fun that can be. Like you said it helps that we had a group of good-natured people who could find the comedy in dying a bazillion times and finishing a quest naked lol.

By the way... to anyone out there in the level ten range playing a rogue splash wizard with insightful reflexes... your saves are not high enough to stroll thru to the horn of agility un scathed. I promise.
