Gotta agree with my buddy cforce here. I'm a guy who plays a lot of low level characters because I'm always experimenting, and it would make the chests along the way MUCH more interesting if any random pull with even one good attribute on it had a chance to become something useful. This is a bit of an equalizer compared to twinkage, too, because now "anybody" can get a +2 Acid Heavy Mace of Pure Good to smash Delera's skeletons. Although perhaps that is an extreme example, the difference between having the "right" weapon for Deleras and having whatever you pulled out of chests so far, is night and day. I think it would be fantastic if even newbies could craft up a reasonably good weapon, appropriate to their level.
And I guess I'm not very concerned about power level creep here, because everyone who's been playing for a long time already has all the best non-bound equipment. This would simply be leveling the playing field: instead of your history in the game being the deciding factor, any new character can get top-notch equipment with sufficient effort on that character.

And I couldn't agree more with the fellow who said that if W/P is so overpowered that crafting it up would be imbalancing, then FIX IT. It's even worse if something is ultra-rare AND overpowered, because then anybody who doesn't have the uber-rare stuff is not desired in a party!
