    Default Monk Build Currently Playing/Working

I have a lvl 7 Monk/2 Ranger I am playing, but I want to make sure I don't gimp myself. Recently have heard from another player that Tempest works with handwraps, if so then I plan to take it to 6 Ranger before MOD 9. However, should it not work with handwraps I may just go with 12 Monk/4 Ranger as there is on real point in Tempest if my main weapons doesn't stack with it. I can already acquire ITWF if I want by feat swapping so that I can take care of instead of the 4 non-necessary need for Ranger, however at the same time I like Barkskin. So the real issue comes down to the Stances, which right now I think are garbage. What bonuses does each stance give at the final lvls?? Does the bonus to any stances stat increase past 2?? Wind stance what different speeds are the higher lvls offering?? Does the lvl of the stance increase the bonus for the buffs the monk can give to his party members or is it a fixed predetermined amount. Say Fires of Purity gives +2 attack, skills and saves. But does the next tier Fires of Purity II give a +3 or even grant a longer one?? I have tested it but have no real evidence in the differences. So what is the real purpose other than the damage increase by 1d6 to taking the next tier?? I really don't like that from what I have seen/experienced the stances do almost nothing extra after first tier. Is this going to change, why should I even take second tier?? If that is the case I could be spening AP on something that I really want to like Halfling Cunning/Halfling Guile/Halfling Dex/Monk Wis. Thank you for any information supplied.

Eladrin has said that tempest should not work with handwraps.

tier 3 stances give a +3 to the boosted stat while maintaining a -2 to the other stat - so they're worth getting.

each stance increases in power as well.

Check out this post. I'm not typing it all again

Yep, currently works with handwraps, but is not supposed to. When it will get fixed is anyone's guess.

Short answer to going Ranger or not.
Tempest will work with dual kamas.
Tempest will (eventually) not work with handwraps.

Either way, the free TWF feats will benefit you.

But I would say if you're keen on going with dual kamas (vorpals), then a Tempest splash is well worth it. If not, I'd say pure monk may work best (or a Fighter splash).
