I had to turn off UAC to lower my blood pressure.

I've had lots of issues installing both regular and Risia. Once you get all that out of the way, it usually runs fine.
User Access Control .. kept having security issues, like I'd boot up and DDO suddenly wouldn't launch because of some file access problem, so I gave up and turned it off. I'm a bit less secure, but cest la vie.
I guess that applies to any Vista though .. and to answer the orginal question, running 64-bit no problems here

Just make sure you have plenty of memory, Vista is a HUGE memory hog,
When you try to run/install stuff, the screen flashes and asks you to verify this is something you want to happen.
For some, it is a major PITA. For others like myself, it's the same old "are you sure you want to do this?" with a screen flash added.
Disclaimer: my machine came configured by Dell so I may have avoided some of the more annoying intricacies of UAC.
Just bought a new box a week ago. Didn't have any problems setting up or running DDO at all. So far the only issue I'm having is minor configuration issues, for example I'm used to clicking my mouse wheel to pan the camera.. now that takes me to a window selector to toggle to the desktop. Its actually kinda handy except it messes with my gamma settings which are then locked and uncorrectable.
8 gig's of RAM and a quad core processor running vista 64.
then you must have another problem, if when you run Shroud, its impossible to run, then it must not be a memory issue, if you are only using half your memory.
DDO is not or should not run any different on Vista 32bit or Vista 64bit, if only look at DDO it self. Since DDO is written for a 32 bit operating system there is no benefit to have 64bit(or any other program written for 32bit)and that basically goes with the memory too.
DDO probally wont care if you have 2gigs or 8gigs it will run the same, as long as you dont have tons of other programs running in the background, nothing should change.
Aspenor as long as you turn off UAC and install .NET 1.1 and SP1, you shold have no problems. Having a videocard(any new card would have now problems with DDO) will make run even better.

I have 2 gigs of ram and have no issues with memory. I can listen to music, have several browsers open and play at least one game without any issues.
I am using Vista 64 Ultimate. Machine is:
e8400 @ 3.8ghz 1680mhz
2 x 1gb ddr3 @ 1680mhz
ASUS nVidia 9800 GT Ultimate; 820core
Vista will free up memory after about 10-20 minutes of use. It generally floats around 540-560 mb's idle at the desktop.
