Open Letter to the Exploiters

It was shut down for the part 4 thing (that vague enough?). It would cause then entire raid to lose their completion, people causing others to not get a completion when they want one is griefing. It was a pretty dumb exploit to begin with and provided minimal benefit, but it caused a lot of harm instead.

I think that exploit ranks as the most pointless.

Completions is everything in the shroud. It is the best place to get +3 tomes or the cleansing stone to wear more ewber gear. Farming for ingredients isnt a problem when you get your 20/40/60/80 completions, because by the time you reach these milestones you should have enough ingredients to craft what you want anyway.

Am I the only person that see the shroud this way? Or have we got the dreaded Plattly plat Farm boys sinking their hooks into the large ingredient market.

This exploit seems only useful to the farmers IMO.

You may be onto something there. The farmers might've gotten the idea from the forums a couple days ago, and have been just doing that ever since. I haven't heard of any normal groups even talking about it, let alone doing it.

Yeah, but alot consider an exploit to be griefing the players that are unwilling participants. I do find your example to be more inline, but it just boggles me that they'd close the shroud for it.

I have to believe it is the part 4 exploit which also happens to grief. Runes in part 3 aren't anywhere near the griefing that the part 4 is.

There are dark sects of players that are willing to do as farmers would. Look to the auction houses. The ingredients are there in multitudes.

And possibly... look to the marketplace forums as well.

If so, maybe everyone should boycott the AH for all larges until some time. Teach those who abused it and thought they could sell them on the AH for a quick plat a lesson?

If you can run the full raid consistently in 20-30 minutes, have hit 16 min, why would you want to use an exploit that costs you advancement to your 20ths and 2 extra chests.

If you have only one toon raid ready... then time to level a couple more.

No, the people that are exploiting out in the open in pugs are the bad seed. I could honestly care less if they do in private groups where no one is going to b!tch. The criers are the real people I want to get my hands on. If they cried as loud in front of me as they do here in game they would end up their jaw wired shut.

Not sure who you are mad at. The folks that show pugs how to cheat or the peeps that are in group with them, see the cheat and file a complaint? My guess is both.

I guess i see your point about what peeps do in private groups to finish quests or get what they want. They are not directly hurting anyone. The problem comes in when these private groups take stuff they have farmed and start flooding the ah with the stuff. This may tip off the others that something is up and questions get asked and viola, something gets shut down.

As i stated earlier, my concern is then Turbine reacts in an opposite direction that punishes those who had nothing to do with it. Lets say that Turbine's reaction is that they make ingredients bind once removed from the chests, like the power shards. That would "fix" the issue. I sure as heck don't want this fix.

I am not "crying" about it. It just angers me that I am having my game enjoyment reduced by those too stupid or greedy to keep this quiet. I personally don't think it is right either. We all know the rules if caught so there can be no *****ing there.

Hey, maybe the servers should have a contest? Take screenshots of our respective AH's for large ingredients and see which server has the most listed in last few days. All in humor of course....>.>

Actually did you know it was possible to get completion after that exploit was used...it was possible to go back to part 4 and complete it after part 5.

It's not about killing players. It was about weakass players grinding 20-30 larges/day.

The griefing effect in PUGs was that it disabled completion for the entire party - willing or not.

Yes I did, now tell me the point of an exploit that lets you do things out of order and how helpful that is? So i can do part 5 first then part 4? Why not do part 4 then 5 if the end comes out the same?

Yep you got it I hate them both equally. The exploiters for not shutting the f up about their hijinx and the criers for being the ones that caused Turbine decide that their reports were wasting their valuable time with such childish tattles about things that were taking place in their groups. If anyone has said it best it's lilredhead.... If either side wants to actually see the results of their actions, feel free to send me a tell on Darkstrike or Spisey in game or even better join a private group so you can hear my reaction. Neither side is right and the 97% of the population NOT exploiting are the only ones that suffer. I would love to make any one of these players on either my b!tch for a day.

to me a looting run is running parts 1-4 and stopping, not using a weak ass tactic because you don't have good enough players to actually beat harry in part 4.
